help! - percy jackson series

there's 5 books in the series and 2 extra like backstory books about the Greek gods, which should i start first I'm confused ... :

- the first book of the series: pj and the lightening theif
or ..
-pj and the Greek gods/pj and the Greek heroes

I've never heard of the extra backstories before. I read the Percy Jackson series, and they're mother f'ing good

HI AS A HUGEEE PJO FAN I AM HERE! this is MY personal opinion on how to read the books within the universe:

if you want to read the camp-half blood chronicles only:

percy jackson series, chalice of the gods, hero’s of olympus series, magnus chase, and then trials of apollo

if you want to read the entirety of the rick riordan verse, i’d suggest the same order, but after original pjo series you can read the kane chronicles (red pyramid, etc.) ans continue one as listed above. there isn’t any character moments where percy pops up but he is very briefly mentioned.

there are other book too like the god demi files or the crossovers which are necessarily important to be read, but if you want more insight of the world then i would recommend reading them!

also to answer your question on the extra books in the original pjo series, the lightning theif comes first! the one you’re speaking about is just kinda like a fun fact kind of book about the different greek gods and stuff
