Thanks Sandra....I waited until I had a dental plan that would pay for 50% of the services....

I have been a very nervous anxious patient and opted for the sedation and best thing I did...

Im also taking next week off as my work is giving me three days for sick time and I am taking my birthday off as well...

The Lies of Vampires and Slayers (Magic on Main Street, #1) by K.M. Shea
on SOS cover-leather-lace shelf

Read: June 20
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
Jade is a solitary vampire slayer, who works for Magiford's version of supernatural police. She is an interesting blend of competence at her job and anxiety in social situations. Considine is ancient and jaded. Watching him interact with Jade in his persona of Connor and learn to be her friend was entertaining. The world of Magiford is well developed and interesting. Considine and Jade make an unlikely but entertaining duo and I enjoyed watching them get to know each other. Definitely plan to read all 3 books in the trilogy back to back. 4 stars.

All Witches on Deck (A Moonstone Bay Cozy Mystery Book 14) by Amanda M. Lee
Task: * For "Quicken", read a recently released book you've been waiting for impatiently or a quick, light read (a book with 200-299 pages)
Fits: released July 2

Read: July 3
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
Galen and Hadley start by looking for missing women in this episode. The town and interactions between the two were entertaining as ever for the most part. The addition of the parrot who liked to spout sexual ephemisms was honestly more annoying than funny, so I'm hopeful he won't be in the next book. The mystery of who had taken the missing women was well done, and the villain was a new type of supernatural for me, which made it that much more interesting. Overall (ignoring the parrot) it was a solid addition to the series. 4 stars.

* For "Pruning", read a book in a series you've started, but let get away from you (more than 3 books in the series left TBR) or a book you put on your TBR list a year or more ago

Cast the First Crone (Spell's Angels, #9) by Amanda M. Lee

I was current with the series when the 6th book came out in 2021. Five more books have been released since then and I just picked the series back up in May to try to catch up.

Review: This was a refreshing surprise. I quite enjoyed this story listened to the audio. Lots of action. I really liked Rylee, there were all kinds of different creatures popping up in the story - harpies, trolls. I liked the interaction of O'Shea - the FBi agent and Rylee. Lots of snark. Rylee is a tracker who finds lost people, she has a pet werewolf who is half man and half werewolf who is quite entertaining - i really liked his narration - fit perfectly. O'Shea has been watching Rylee for years as he thinks that Rylee is responsible for her sisters disappearance 10 years prior. I didnt really like Rylee's BFF -Milly. I am hoping that another story will have more of Giselle in it.

Review:
Scout and Gunnar are braced for the worst with his crazy, murderous mother on the loose. They begin investigating the murders of several residents of the cabins along the river in Hawthorne Hollow knowing that they are linked to Gunnar's mother because of the runic symbol carved at each location. What they discover is far beyond their expectation. This book does a great job of merging a more basic mystery with the reveal of several new elements for the upcoming prophetic battle that will happen in future books. While investigating, they uncover new allies, missing parents, the leader of the enemy forces, and a traitor in the midst. As always the interactions between the characters are entertaining and the story was well-plotted out. The crossover interactions with characters from her other series let me enjoy ever more of some of my favorite characters. A solid 4 stars.

Review: i really enjoyed this story and will continue with the series. There was a disease called Haden's Disease that caused many people to be locked within their bodies but their brains were fine. Over time Threeps were developed that allowed the people to have bodies that their brains operated.

The story is about an FBI agent who has Hadens and the case he is assigned to involving the misuse of Threeps for corporate greed.

Stroke the Flame (Her Elemental Dragons, #1) by Elizabeth Briggs
Task: * For "clean", clean off your TBR shelves and read a book published 2 or more years ago
Fits: published in 2018

Read: July 19
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
Kira has been living in hiding since her parents were killed by the Crimson Dragon. After being struck by lightning, she begins dreaming of 4 men but is still shocked when they begin arriving in town one by one announcing that they have been sent by the various elemental gods to protect Kira and become her mates. Kira and her men begin a journey to follow the instructions of the gods and become the new dragons of the realm while trying to learn about each other.

The world created by the author is interesting, but does not seem to have much depth or history so far. The same can be said for the 5 main characters. I do think that alternating the narrator helps with getting to know the character, but 5 is just too many to add enough depth for the length of the book. Despite being fairly shallow, I still enjoyed the story and have hopes that the depth will improve over the course of the series. 3 1/2 stars

Review: I really enjoyed this story. A town full of supernatural beings, vampires, witches, shifters, slayers. Poppy is told by her husband that he wants a divorce after 20 years and that he met someone he has fallen in love with or so he thinks. Poppy has 2 besties - Dana & Marcy. Dana is a no holds barred DA and Marcy is an eccentric type of gal.
Poppy moves to her grandparents house in Grimm Cove and runs into her high school boyfriend and the sparks fly. Poppy has no idea that she comes from a strong line of witches and that she has powers.
My favorite line in the book was referring to children as "crotch goblins". Good story, well done, great humor and likable characters.
Will continue with the series.
