Review: I'm not really sure why I liked this one, but I did. I really didn't care much about the necromancer storyline. It was just blah and didn't draw me in. I just really liked all the characters and their interactions with each other. The secret organization called "The Ministry of Curiosities" is intriguing and I can see many more potential storylines developing with this group. I am definitely going to read the next in the series to see how this progresses.

Review: I just love Kathryn Moon's writing. The first of her books I read, Written, read like Diana Wynne Jones wrote a book with steam in it. And while her more contemporary books don't read quite like that, it is still a very enjoyable read. I loved the characters, especially Hannah. Her struggle to accept what her life will now look like after a werewolf attack was, not relatable, exactly, but very believable.

Review: This series is a fun, quick read, with each book starting off right where the last one ended. I think what draws me in is not the paranormal aspect to the story, but the idea that it really is a "Beauty and the Beast" type of story between the two main characters...and I am a sucker for those. This third book in the series also picked up the pace a bit with a little more action and adventure than the previous two books. I have already started the fourth in the series.

The blurb made this book far more interesting than it was, I guess it's for the series. The book started slow and I expected it to pick up once she got to the school but it didn't. There is really no bullying but it constantly tells you that she knows nothing from the way she was raised and that she is shaped differently than the other women. It finally gets interesting and bam it ends on a cliffhanger.

Review: I don't even know where to start with this one. It wasn't awful. Not really. But it wasn't good. It was just blah. There was nothing to really hold my attention. I would have DNF'd, but I needed a book with a horn on the cover for another challenge. And sometimes that's really all you can say about a book. I just needed one tiny part of it, and I could have done without all the rest.

Review: This was another fun, quick read. Girl from the south travels to nowhere Alaska to escape her hippie parents control over her. She settles on Grundy, a quaint, small town full of wonderfully quirky characters. Lots of humor and of course a complicated romance with a werewolf. Nothing earth shattering, but I did enjoy this book and might read the next in the series.

Camden and Aspen have been attached since they were children but always kept it in the friend zone. All it took to open their eyes was someone trying to claim one as their true mate. Now they have to work through their true feelings along with the drama of Camden's past. Good story and transition from friends to lovers.

Review: When the previous book ended with a time jump, I wasn't sure I was going to like it. But we were running out of new couples in the generation of the first books. I did not like the kids as much as I liked their parents. They grew up a little bit spoiled in my opinion. But Nate and Nalla did manage to turn that around.

Better than the first but this book is mislabeled, this is not a bully book. These are her men that will protect her and she will also protect them. When the school is attacked and they save it, they realize they must now leave for the safety of her because she is different and they can no longer hide it. Again a cliffhanger and I am now invested and have to finish the series.

Review: I'm really enjoying this series. Each book just seamlessly flows into the next. Yes, the storyline centers around "Supernaturals", hence the secret organization "Ministry of Curiosities" which it revolves around. But this particular world is pretty simple in nature and easy to follow, which is what I am looking for right now. However, what I am enjoying the most is the characters and their relationships. It's pretty obvious at this point that the two main characters will more than likely have a HEA, but it's been fun watching them get there. Each book reveals a bit more, and I can't wait to see how it all wraps up.

Review: I am a science nerd and usually enjoy a good time travel adventure. This one was rather unique, and I really enjoyed the author's take on it: a science experiment gone wrong and everyone is thrown back in time 25 years. The old are young again and the dead are alive again. Plus everyone retains their memories from the future. Interesting concept, and I think the author pulls it off pretty well dealing with all the "but what if" questions that can come about with time travel stories. The only problem I have with the book is that it is only 242 pages long. Too short to really delve into all the nuances of the characters and the storyline. There was soooo much more that could have been told. As this came out in 2011, more than likely there will be no more, and the story ends here. Too bad as it was an enjoyable read.

Penelope Douglas can write teenage angst books. This book draws you in and the story of the pen pals that never met is good. This coming of age story shows you what you will do to become noticed and be surrounded by people even if you know that they are not good for you. To have someone in your corner even with all the drama is always good. Good Read

Review: I wanted to like this one. I really did. I did eventually got pulled into the story, but it took over 100 pages. Epistolary novels, when done right, really work for me. This one did not. I felt that the format was used to avoid world building. And by the end I get that the world building was avoided because the people of the world really have no idea how it all came to be. But as the reader I needed more. And the split time periods didn't work either. It should have just started at the beginning, time-wise, and proceeded through to the end. I appreciate that the jumping around helped us get to know the other characters better, sooner. But it made for disjointed reading. That said, I do plan to read the next one when it comes out.
