I'd love to meet H. Gareth Gavin, who's written my favourite novel in years, the very strange and very brilliant Never Was, shortlisted for this year's Goldsmith's Prize. I'd like to discover if he is in fact human, and if so, how hard he has to work at it.Sample paragraph:
