Why does Amazon damage books all the time

Literally just received a brand new book, and it was jammed into the package with the front cover bent back. Have received books with dark oil stains and even tears before or gappy spines. Who else hates when this happens! I'm so tired of doing returns. I just wanna know like do they play basketball with the books or something? Who else has book delivery horror stories. I have worse ones, too, but it wasn't Amazon's fault on those, lol.

Girl that's exactly why I'm scared of ordering on Amazon, even though they are cheaper. I've only ordered one book on Amazon before and luckily it was in good condition.

I ordered a few hardcover books from Amazon,
and the edges of the hardcover books? they were all bent as if someone hammered on the edges XD.
