Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Happy weekend!

Normal gym class this week so my shoulder is fine! I managed yoga on Monday without too much bother from the aching arm.

My brother & SIL have been at their caravan this last fortnight. He is coming over tomorrow and hopefully bringing the bag of mum's paintings. I had been searching for them and mentioned it to my SIL and she said oh i think we have them!

I swapped electricity suppliers and am wondering whether to try their offer of using at off peak times/not using at peak times.

I got used to not watching much TV whilst mum was ill, and haven't bothered much since - whenever I look there doesn't seem to be much that I want to watch.

Next weekend I can go to the Blues Festival or a Canal Festival or stay at home and do some sorting. Can't decide.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening all, mainly cloudy, though did get quite sunny at times, so got some washing dry. Went to coffee shop at lunch, just missed out on a piece of apple pie blondie, but while deciding what to have, she said they had made apple pie lattes, so I tried one of those - really impressed that she not only remembered I have decaff, but also that I don't like cinnamon, so she put caramel syrup on top of it rather than cinnamon. Not sure if I go too often, or she's just got a really good memory! Another day at work where morning was fine, but afternoon went to pot and didn't get through what I wanted to. Had an Amazon delivery between 5 and 7, so had to read on the bed in the sun after work, it came around 6, so then went looking for bargains, got lots of fruit, so just had a nice fruit salad.

Sorry that you had a frustrating day yesterday Alicia, hope daughter recovers well. Shame that you had a wasted visit and used up energy needlessly. Hope you will get a new assistant. Nice to hear from you again Janet. Glad you managed yoga.

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4834 comments Thanks, Desley - I'm just glad that the surgery part is over.

My assistant put back together an enameled clay mask my husband dropped accidentally - I don't have that kind of fine motor control any more - she just did it. And a host of little chores. And she's finding me a replacement. Plus she'll be available part of the time.

I'm a pig in mud!

I really miss being able to do yoga! Enjoy!

We sort of drifted into this. Indeed I realised the only TV I was watching was when I sat and watched Last of the Summer Wine with my mother
After she died I realised I'd left a computer tower in front of the TV for three weeks and nobody had noticed, and we haven't had a TV or a licence for twenty years

I wonder if memories are selective, in that I tend to be able to remember what coffee people drink, black, white, with or without sugar etc, from times when I make the coffee after church services (or in one of our more civilised services, before :-) )

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, woke up fairly early but felt really drained. I did a half hearted attempt at some housework, then realised at 11.30 I hadn't eaten, so had the reduced salad I bought last night, and felt human enough to shower, dress and take my soft plastic to co-op. Bumped into an old friend on the way, last time I saw her, she had split up from her husband, today she told me she was pregnant (found out on her 41st birthday!), so had to ask if it was his! They had reduced crumble and trifle in co-op, went for the crumble, not had one for ages. Couldn't eat it in peace though, Lucy loved the smell! Not really done much else, couldn't pay Inland Revenue, and have signed up for another free energy session tomorrow, so will time housework around that.

I did drinks for so many meetings that I did remember what most of them drank, and to make sure they didn't get the wrong cups, I made sure that they were all slightly different cups so I could tell them apart without labels! I remember chuckling at one colleague who just made tea white none or coffee white none for everyone, and if you wanted sugar, had to put your own in!

message 858: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments I've noticed how few of our people do take sugar, two out of twenty plus

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4834 comments We started late for my career reasons: I had our kids at 36, 39, and 42. It happens. Good solid Hungarian peasant background, I believe.

They've turned out rather well, if I do say so.

Hope your friend is okay with a later child, Desley. It is definitely harder in some ways.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, woke up feeling drained again, had a bit of a lazy start to the day. Was leaving some of the housework to my 'free' hour at 1, I put the washing machine on, but walking upstairs to get the washbasket drained me enough that I didn't do the hoovering I planned. So apart from putting the washing and rubbish out, I haven't left the house today. Don't normally have a whole weekend of feeling drained. The craft fair A did was the best yet too, so glad her sister could go too, would have been busy at times. Forgot to say yesterday, I finally got round to taking the new air fryer out of the box - the basket seems smaller, though easier to clean, and the liner doesn't fit in it!

Well, she started earlier with her others, her oldest is just about to start college and think the other is at high school.

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4834 comments It's like having two different families - which isn't uncommon these days, what with blended families and late marriages changing the timelines.

My next younger sister got married a few months before we did - but came back from the honeymoon expecting twins! We waited 11 years. The cousins are more like aunts and uncles.

But the children of my YOUNGER sisters are very close in age to mine - they got married later, but had children more quickly.

I've known people like your friend who have late children - have one in my novels (it's going to be a shocker). Makes relationships interesting.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, was WFH today as our office days have changed for Wear It Pink Day on Wed, nails are ready for it, and got a nice comment from one of the organisers (thought I'd send her a pic, as she likes pics for publicity). Been a miserable day, I went to the chemist at lunch to see if I could buy some over the counter antihistamines given I messed up my prescription and it was spitting, so checked both shops while out, glad I did as it has been wet and windy since finishing work, so wouldn't have wanted to go back out. Ordered two pairs of work boots (really splashing out, normally only buy one!), and asked for delivery on Wed, got a message today saying they are ready - will probably pick them up tomorrow after work, as prescription is ready on Wed, and didn't think I'd be able to get it till Thu.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening all, much nicer day than forecast, just very windy. Rain started 5 mins after I got home, then got very wild! Frustrating day at work, kept getting interrupted by the phone, and did manage to forget to add something important on a form, luckily colleague decided to copy and paste my text so noticed my mistake! Got compliments on my nails though. Had a shock when went to coffee shop though, I was contemplating what to have, when manager suggested blueberry, I figured I like strawberry in coffee, so why not - she actually said if I didn't like it, she'd make me something else! While she was making it, the other girl said she was leaving, I was like 'oh no, you are my favourite' - then realised that might not be appropriate when the other one is making my drink! Apparently they are closing the store just outside our building, so merging the two, she's only there for another 2 weeks. Went to pick up my parcel after work, and did my usual trick of not being able to just go to retail park, pick up parcel and leave, popped in B and M (still forgot the gift bag I need though!), Iceland and Asda.

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4834 comments But you had fun - and then went home to your happy place.

I've figured out, when I woke up grumpy from yet another nap, that I can listen to a bit of music, watch a piece of a Sarah Millican comedy show, and come back to a more centered view of life.

Somehow I had been shorting myself - but these things are nice as secondary painkillers.

I'm losing a trained (she has been wonderful at following instructions to do what we need) assistant - and hope the next one is as nice as her predecessors. I've been exceedingly lucky on my helpers, and so far in Davis, each has found me her successor. But I miss them a lot when they leave after a year or so, finishing college, moving on to their more adult lives.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, mixed day weather wise. We had wear it pink day today, I felt a bit uncomfortable with what I was wearing as they aren't really office clothes, patterned trousers and pink top. bumped into someone on the way in the way in who was also feeling uncomfortable in the pink clothes she was wearing. We kept seeing other people walking in, but none wearing pink! Luckily when we got on our floor, lots were, but I was that busy talking to her that I forgot we were on the other side today! Everyone had put some level of pink in, one of my colleagues even put some pink hair dye in! And we had pink snacks. Had to have our pic taken. Was a funny day though, we were sat in a different place, so had to keep remembering where to go, though at least I didn't get interrupted as much with phone calls. Decided to treat myself to another drink from the coffee shop, went in to be greeted with 'it's Wednesday, what are you doing here?'! Explained why and got a decaf latte with blueberry syrup today, manager made it again and barely tasted the blueberry. Was showing them pics of our team in pink, so was too distracted to test it before I left. Nipped in Lidl on the way home as didn't like the yoghurts on offer when I went shopping last night, obviously came home with more than just those!

Good luck for your new assistant Alicia, shame that you only get them for a year or so.

message 866: by Alicia (new)

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4834 comments Sounds like a delicious latte - too bad you didn't take a quick sip!

The current assistant was a junior when I got her (3rd year college here), so I was supposed to get two years - but then she figured out she could save a lot of money by taking some extra classes and graduating a year early! I don't begrudge her that - she was paying for a lot, if not all, of it herself - but it dumps her into the 'I need a real full-time job' that much sooner, so she needs far more hours than I could possibly use her.

It's fine - I'm happy for HER - but I'll miss her. It's interesting when your assistant is getting a degree in HISTORY, and you've LIVED through some of the periods she's studying! There are over 50 years between us - I'm surprised it doesn't make me feel horribly older.

She has skills! Including sewing! And lovely handwriting. Told her she can use me as a reference as long as she needs - already did the first one for the job she starts next Monday.

Jim | 21809 comments This morning was like autumn, a wild night, a lot of leaves blown off the trees and the sea had been over the seawall last night and there were stones and stuff over the road

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, very wet and wild night, woke up about 3ish, but couldn't get back to sleep with the wind, think I finally dropped off about 5ish! Did have a bit of an odd day, 3 people asking for something urgent, but then didn't hear back from them for ages, got to the point where we had to say it couldn't be done this week. E-mails started creeping up again, and just me and manager tomorrow. Just as I'd finished putting the recycling out, it started raining again, so didn't go to the shops today. Got confirmation of the first free energy session, I got a whole 2p! I didn't try and do much more though, so wasn't expecting anything. There was one yesterday I didn't have to sign up for, and I was in the office, so that'll be interesting!

Shame your assistant hasn't stayed as long as you hoped Alicia, she does sound good. Sounds worse than here then Jim!

A branch blew off and blocked the lane so I had to drag it home this morning with the quad bike, I'll get it sawn up later :-)

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4834 comments Sounds like 'interesting' weather. Ours has been hot (but less so than earlier in the summer), and I haven't been out in ages. It sounds like you have things mostly under control at work. Whatever is necessary.

Saw my doctor by video visit - much easier.

New assistant provided by the old one - seems lovely. We've emailed and texted. Our facility requires people to fill out forms, get fingerprinted, and be up to date with vaccines because we're all older, and the state of California has requirements.

It's fun each time to see the new person's new skills. This one will be a sophomore (2nd year college student here) - may last a couple of years if it works out.

I've enjoyed every one - keep up connections.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, slept through till 5.30ish, then the wind was so strong I couldn't get back to sleep. Wasn't too bad a day with just me and manager, though got a bit chaotic at 4pm and ended up having to work a bit late. Rain dried up, but was still windy, risked pegging the towels out, but not the sheet. Went to coffee shop at lunch, asked for a apple pie mocha, she asked if I wanted normal or white, and then said 'actually, do you mind having it in normal, I haven't tried it with chocolate yet', so I said fine, I'll try white next week, it was very nice. Went for a little walk to the shops after work and felt better for it, as hadn't really been out yesterday. Typically forecast isn't good for the bank holiday weekend.
Wow, that's a bit more than a 'branch' Jim!. Glad you got a video doctor appointment, as long as it was enough to get what you needed. Glad your potential new assistant seems lovely, hope all the paperwork goes smoothly.

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4834 comments Sounds like your weather is a bit wild lately - wish we had some of your rain!

But I'm happy without the high winds - this area gets some days during the year with very high winds, and it numbs my brain, because I can't get away from the sound.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, weather ended up better than forecast and possibly the best day of the long weekend, so went to get the car washed - quite a distance away, but they do a good job, when they opened the doors to wipe the inside, they did comment 'inside too next time'! They did ask for a bit more money, but figured as it hasn't been cleaned this year and it was bad in places, I was going to give them more anyway. I have to drive through nearby market town for the car wash, so decided to have a potter round there, went for breakfast at the cafe run by same people who had candle shop, only vegi breakfast I've ever had that had vegi sausage, bacon and black pudding, was very impressed. Couldn't get what I wanted from the market, half the stalls weren't there, but did get a lemon meringue blondie, and did some food shopping on the way back. Had to wash some cat bowls when I got back and just chilled watching TV/reading, though did go and take some soft plastic to the co-op.

Yes, been classed as a storm.

message 874: by Alicia (new)

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4834 comments Clean car - nice. There is nothing like reading time. Enjoy!

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, had a rubbish night sleep, struggled to get to sleep, then woke up at 5 as I was cold! Weather wasn't as bad as expected today, but windy all day and rained on and off most of the day, so I made myself go to the shops after lunch just to leave the house. Felt a bit achy, so have done a half hearted clean of the upstairs, will hopefully do a less half hearted clean of the downstairs tomorrow.

message 876: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments Just realised its a bank holiday which has screwed my day up because normally I've done the shopping by 7:30am and back to get on with stuff, but of course stuff is shut until 8am

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, actually managed a lie in, woke up at 6.30, went to the loo, thought I'd see if I could close my eyes again, woke up about 7.30ish, did the same, then woke up again about 8.20, I did want to try it again, but could feel my back stiffening, so thought I better get up. When I was hoovering the stairs, I had to stop half way as my back was hurting, and I only have 13 stairs, so think I do need to look into a cleaner. I was a bit half hearted with the rest of the cleaning, but happy that the stairs have been done. Had some admin to do that took longer than expected, made myself go out around 3 to take some more soft plastic (scary how much I get through as a single person, and that I haven't figured out a way to clean the cat food pouches without encouraging flies), so didn't get to watch a film. Had a panic with my kindle though, it was being temperamental about downloading books, luckily a reset sorted it and I didn't have to look at buying a new one! We are doing rainbow colours for pride this week, have done spotted nails.

I'm impressed stuff is only shut till 8am on a Bank Hol Jim, thought they were open Sunday hours. Sorry it messed your day up, but don't worry, last of the year!

message 878: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments Yes, bank holidays always come as a surprise to me as they aren't really a feature of my life :-)

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, started off dry but then turned quite miserable. We were really short staffed today, I actually wondered if I'd turned up on the right day there were so few people on my floor! Should have been me and part time colleague till lunch, then manager was joining us, but got in and part time colleague wasn't in, so was really thrown, logged on to the wifi to find a message from manager saying that I would be on my own till lunch, and she appreciated there might be quite a lot of work due to the bank hol and not to panic, I can only do what I can do and prioritise best I can. Luckily despite there being a few urgent things I managed to get through them. Popped to Boots at lunch as found a random prescription for my nasal spray and wondered if I could still use it, as need a new one, they were able to accept it, but needed to order it, figured that would still be quicker than getting a new prescription. Then popped to coffee shop on way back, they commented on me being early! When my favourite person handed me my decaf white mocha with blueberry syrup, I asked if she had a new job and apparently she got unfired today! Treated myself to some nice stuff from M and S, like mango grapes (not sure they taste like mango, but are quite sweet), then called in B and M as didn't realise I needed cat litter when I called in one on Sat, very unimpressed by the Halloween and Christmas stuff being out already. Feel as though I might be coming down with a cold though, which isn't good.

message 880: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments Yes I wonder if with the weather the retailers have just abandoned summer and moved on.
Weather yesterday was just drear, sometimes it wasn't raining, you just walked through a sheet of fine water

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4834 comments Youngest daughter texted last night - she has pneumonia! Needed company. I texted back and forth with her for a while, then she got her prescriptions filled, and eventually she got an hour or two of sleep.

She's in New York state, and I'm in California, so I can't just up and go. It is quite terrifying to have someone you know on the other end of the internet is struggling to breathe and can't find a position in which she doesn't cough.

Thank goodness for steroids and antibiotics. A couple hours later caught her again, and it was getting a bit easier.

I expect it should get better now.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, definitely feel like I am coming down with something, colleague said it sounded like I have a sore throat, my lungs hurt but not my throat, been taking cold tablets just in case. Has been a bit of a miserable day weather wise, so only left the house to put the rubbish out. Part time colleague was off again today, but other colleague back and we managed to get through a decent amount of stuff.

Oh no Alicia, must be a worry when you are so far away. Hope she gets better soon and doesn't have any long lasting effects.

message 883: by Alicia (new)

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4834 comments Sorry you're not feeling well - take care. Hope it doesn't take any more than cold tablets, but be prepared to escalate treatment if necessary. Sooner rather than too late. Illness is always inconvenient, but work can wait. Lungs hurting doesn't sound good, especially when it's not winter.

She is feeling a bit better, but worried it's the steroids (which are temporary), and not the antibiotics (which she still doesn't know if they are the right ones, since the steroids help) doing the improvement. I hope her doctors catch anything that isn't right when the steroid part of the treatment is over. I have no experience with pneumonia. Thanks for asking.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening all, didn't feel as bad this morning, did start feeling quite tired about 3.30 though, so might have to go to bed early. Not too bad a day at work, and nice enough weather wise to get some washing done. Got the heads up that the job in the new team went live, couldn't find it after work though, so might need to ask tomorrow if I'm looking for the right thing! Nipped to the shops after work, did feel quite drained on the way back though.

Jim | 21809 comments We had youngest daughter with us so intended to go for ride out in Kendal direction. A590 jammed solid east bound so went west and had an icecream at Cumbrian Cow https://www.facebook.com/CumbrianCowI...

Then went to have a look round Swarthmoor Hall which is well worth a look, not a grand building but interesting

But I had carrot cake :-)

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, haven't felt particularly great today, and been a bit breathless. Day started off cloudy, but turned out nice, got some more washing dried. Had a meeting that overran this morning, so didn't get lunch till late, then felt like I needed a short lunch, went to coffee shop and had decaf white mocha with apple pie syrup. Was sunny when I finished work, so went to canal to read my book, but there was a young deer in the field opposite that wasn't fazed by me, so found sitting watching it eat more fascinating than my book. Not back in work till Tue now.

Glad you had a nice time with your daughter Jim, even if you couldn't go where you planned. I'd have gone with carrot cake over that savoury scone too!

Just sitting watching something like a young deer can be fascinating

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4834 comments Husband should be home from a successful cardiac procedure yesterday soon - they send him home from Sacramento in a rideshare! This procedure didn't work when they tried it two months ago, so we were very nervous.

Thanks, Desley. Our youngest daughter, Rebecca, finally saw turnaround from the antibiotics and steroids - and is planning to go to work on Monday.

God is good, I'm exhausted from being point person, and I don't care - they're both going to be okay.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, we did an event today, it was a fundraiser for mesothelioma, both to raise money and awareness, organised by someone who is sadly dying from it, there was a very good turnout and we did well. The venue are considering doing regular craft fairs, we've put our name down, but not sure if they will all be that good. Got to pick up the prescription I dropped off at Boots, they gave me two nasal sprays, I don't remember two being on the prescription, but I shan't complain, and glad that I took it in to see if it was still valid. Finished earlier than expected, which is good as though I haven't been coughing much today, I was tired and headachy. Nipped to Lidl on the way home for a couple of bits, and then Sainsbury's to check bargains, bumped into a neighbour in there, so she walked back with me, and had a nice chat. Did a couple of bits when I got home, then sat and read.

Glad that it was second time lucky for hubby's procedure Alicia, and glad that daughter is feeling better. Hopefully you can have a break now.

message 891: by Alicia (new)

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4834 comments Thanks, Desley.

We will both spend a lot of today asleep. I can't really do what I've been doing, and he had some problems, very little sleep, and wasn't allowed to sit up or roll over for a very long time. He just walked in, needs food - and will crash.

All minor, compared with the procedure having been actually better than planned, and not having to do it again. He's too tired to say whether he can tell the blood flow is better yet, but I think it's going to be, since they cleaned out the arteries and stented them so they stay open. Boggles the mind: those arteries have been closed for almost 26 years!

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, woke up before my 6.30 alarm with a pounding headache, wonder if I didn't have enough to drink yesterday. Decided to give Lucy the last half tablet rather than liquid this morning as she has been being sick more. We did well at craft fair, though a few of the people we are friendly with said the opposite. Jeff, the long haired chihuahua was in an extra cuddly mood, he actually wanted to be picked up today, then at one point I was walking through to get a fork for my lunch and he started standing on his back legs to get a fuss from me, so obliged! Treated myself to a new cat thermos flask from the cat charity stall, A treated me to cake, and won second prize on the raffle, a lovely bee themed hamper with alcohol, bee mug, shopping bag, bath bomb, hand wash, face mask, burner and 2 wax melts (they sell burners and melts among other things), I went to ask what one of the things was (the shopping bag) and she jokingly said 'well, not sure you need the burner and melts, obviously told her you can never have too many! A dropped me at home so I didn't have to walk home with it, put it down, went round to check on bargains in Sainsbury's and Malachi and his owner were just pulling up, he got very excited to see me too, so had a cuddle with him too. G has just come round for her key, didn't invite them in as feel really tired and headachy, plus the house is rather a mess - think her son wanted to see the cats, but none would be interested to see him. She asked if I was coming down with something and said I hadn't been well during the week, she immediately stepped back from me and asked if I'd done a Covid test! I have some somewhere, but not sure I see the point in doing one.

He seems in fine fettle today, slept through without getting up once after I slathered Aspercreme (painkilling stuff) on his back and massaged it in (he had to lie on his back for a very long time), so is much more himself, and I woke to him cooking himself a very big breakfast. So good to have that whole thing behind us.

Daughter's pneumonia seems under control - she's playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends all today, and going back to work tomorrow! Modern medicine for the win in some things.

Hope you don't have anything major, Desley. I recommend extra rest.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, was off today, woke up at 6.30, was nice to go to the loo and then back to bed. Unfortunately I forgot to cancel the 7.45 alarm, so got woken up then! Just feel tired and still a bit headachy, so have staggered the housework with rest. Weather wasn't as bad as forecast, but apart from putting the rubbish out, I haven't got dressed or left the house. While I was doing some admin, the mirror fell off the wall and broke, I'm really disappointed, I've probably had it for nearly 20 years, and I really liked it, now I have to find a new one. G rang this evening wondering if I was free on Sat to go to the cinema for her birthday, unfortunately it's one of our rare Sat fairs, and one I want to go to (and not keen on the film she wants to see), she was disappointed and I felt bad with it being her birthday, she keeps going on about 'have I done something wrong', if she asks again (she did last night when she collected the key), I might just say 'you have now'! I just don't really want to be around her kind of negativity at the moment.

Glad hubby seems in fine fettle after his procedure and that daughter feels up to going back to work Alicia.

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4834 comments Sorry about your mirror - I hate losing things I have had for a long time which work just the way I want them to.

Housekeeping crew broke (and didn't mention!) a ceramic toothbrush holder which was a mate to my soap holder, both with little embedded pieces of colored glass - I still miss it, ten years later, because a dear friend gave me the pair.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, don't feel as bad today, was tired at one point and back was really stiff, but a couple of colleagues were complaining about feeling stiff. Didn't have anything for lunch, so nipped to Boots for a sandwich, then as it was quite warm, got a cold drink from coffee shop, apparently my favourite barista has just had her hours reduced, so she will be looking for another job, but she's there for a bit longer. Nipped into B and M and looks like they have a perfect replacement mirror, just need to measure the one I have first. Then popped into Iceland, there was something new I'd seen advertised, but couldn't remember what, got a couple of bits. Then went to Lidl for a couple of heavy things I didn't want to carry on Sat, and got a couple of the limited edition raspberry croissants, they are delicious!

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, quite dull weather wise today. Part of the day was good and got through a few things, but also had a couple of frustrating things to deal with, wanted to hit my head against the wall after one conversation. Went bargain hunting after work and on the way back bumped into Malachi's owner. Got the results of the energy sessions, I used 11p extra - which isn't bad to say I wasn't in the house for 2 of the 3 sessions! Can tell the dark nights are drawing in, Lucy brought back what I assume was a moth last night, whatever it was was small enough to stay in her mouth and she hid it from me while eating it.

Jim | 21809 comments It started overcast but got better as the day went on. I think we're in for a few nice days

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12593 comments Evening, was woken up at 5.20 by a very odd banging noise, when I looked out of the window, it appeared that one of the neighbours was having his car towed on the back of an RAC type truck. Good job I have velvet curtains, nipped to the loo and the lights were quite obvious in there. Got a few more frustrating things by 10.30, probably not helped by being tired! It is G's birthday today, so we went to her favourite cafe for lunch, bumped into an old friend's parents, so that was nice. One of G's friends was there with his mum, but we couldn't get his attention. We just had coffee and cake, then I left her with her friend and his mum. Colleague had to log off early, there was some fibre works in the area that cut off her internet, and it was only an hour till hometime so no point driving to the office, so I manned the fort again. Went and checked for bargains after work and saw tortoise Geoff's owner in co-op, not seen him for a while. Been very windy this afternoon, but supposed to be lovely tomorrow, typical as I'm in the office.
