October 2023 - Has A Graveyard Scene

For this prompt, we’re looking for books that have a scene set in a graveyard or cemetery. This does not need to be a spooky, scary, or mysterious read — although it may be if you wish. The book could have a large portion of the plot set within a graveyard, or the setting could simply be featured in a small scene.

Here is the link for our Goodreads List, feel free to add your suggestions to it!

Mary Sue | 144 comments I read My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. Two of the characters meet in the graveyard after school.

Denise | 554 comments I read Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann. The investigators of the Osage murders visit a lot of gravesites, murder scenes, coroner's offices, and even exhume one of the bodies

Excellent non-fiction book

Michele Olson | 517 comments The Michael St. Pierre series by Richard Doetsch has been handy lately. I read one for my road trip (historic place on cover), another for the "book begins with a proper noun" mini-challenge, and now the last one, The Thieves Of Legend, has a cemetery scene.

Hilde Helseth | 220 comments I have just started reading a book of ghost stories, and at least one of the stories takes place at a graveyard. The book is En hodeløs historie og andre grøss - spøkelseshistorier fra mange land by Cecilia Mörner, a Norwegian edition of a Swedish book.
