Drace (dracenines) | 7410 comments Just a couple of quick issues with the new editions of Every House is Haunted by Ian Rogers.

1. The paperback edition has a duplicate that needs to be merged. Links to both:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6... Valid edition
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7... Duplicate
Please let me know if this requires a superlibrarian and I'll start a thread there.

2. The paperback edition (once merged) and the Kindle edition (Every House is Haunted, ASIN B0BGZ1NVY4) both need to have Paul Tremblay added with the Introduction role.

3. The following links are bot imports of Amazon sales of secondhand copies of the book and need to be marked invalid:

Emmy de Reus (nyneve) | 19387 comments I'v been working on this one, but thus far failed to succeed the merge.

1) I tried to separate both paperback editions that are to be merged; the one of the second link is now separated but the one of the first link stays in the main work.
Because the ISBN10 and ASIN of the to-be-merged edition need to be moved to the other one (with just the ISBN13) and we librarians can not do that, I'll contact Support, requesting to separate the |"unwilling" edition too, move the ID-numbers and after a succesful merge recombine the kept edition with its parent.

2) The name of Paul Tremblay has already been added to the paperback-to-keep and the Kindle.

3) The editions of your pt. 3 have been marked invalid

To be continued...

It seems like issues with the merge might require a superlibrarian. I'm going to move this thread to the superlibrarian folder in order to try to get some help from there.

Emmy de Reus (nyneve) | 19387 comments I've already contacted Support:

qte
In order to merge two identical paperback records I already separated this - to be deleted/merged - edition:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7... (work https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...)

from the main work, but the other edition:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6... - to be kept after merging - for some reason won't be separated from the main work https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...

The edition to be deleted/merged has an ISBN10 and ASIN that need to be moved to the other edition with only an ISBN13 before merging.

Can you please assist in:
- separating record 61426510 from work 21550289
- combining it with work 207397807 thus preparing the merge
- move the ISBN10 and ASIN to the record-to-keep with just the ISBN13
- merge/delete record 71201040 (0 shelvings)
- recombining work 207397807 with work 21550289

Thank you.
uqt

Emmy de Reus (nyneve) | 19387 comments Considering the number of shelvings a SuperLibrarian would not be required.

And SuperLibrarians cannot move ISBNs / ASINs

I assumed that the only time ISBNs or ASINs could be moved is if it was done as part of the merging process, my mistake.

Let me know if you want me to just leave the thread here or move it back to the regular book/author issue folder.

Emmy de Reus (nyneve) | 19387 comments I think it would be best to move it back again, in order not to bother the Supers...

I raised a question about this, just to make sure (see https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... ).

Recently I made a request in the Super-folder for a merge of two duplicates with >5 shelvings. Both had ID's and I was instructed to contact Support in order to first have the ID's moved before the actual merge could take place...

Drace (dracenines) | 7410 comments It's been a few days so I figured it would be worth bumping the thread. Any word back from support?

message 30: by Emmy (new)

Emmy de Reus (nyneve) | 19387 comments Yes, I received some feedback yesterday, but because it was pretty meaningless I have not updated it here yet. I thought I'd wait for some actual results...

"Thanks for reaching out. We're looking into your support request and will get back to you as soon as possible."

Emmy de Reus (nyneve) | 19387 comments Hi Drace,

This morning I received following email from Support:

Hi Emmy,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. It seems a few of us have been working on the record, so I've made some changes but have to admit that things got a bit muddled along the way. Could I ask that you please review the below work and let me know if this is correct, or if I need to edit any other details?

uqt

I think everything is okay now, but can you please check and verify too, before I confirm to Support that all has now been properly taken care of?
