Nicodemous55 | 74 comments I came across this book Sylvia and noticed in the search that three versions seem to come up.

The correct version

And these two others which are duplicates it seems. The first of which needs several edits.

How would I go about this edit? Should they be simply combined with the main version as the duplicates have no other editions attached?

Liralen | 8218 comments These latter two have all the hallmarks of bad bot imports (i.e., the bots importing single copies of books that have been listed on Amazon by resalers, not by the publisher, and that are not actually separate editions): incorrectly formatted titles, paperbacks that have ASINs but not ISBNs, a general lack of other information.

If they don't have any reviews/shelvings, they can be marked as deleted; if they do, they can be merged with the valid 2007 paperback.

So this goes for all instances of this issue as I made three separate posts about three different titles containing the same problem?

Liralen | 8218 comments Not definitively all, but—generally, yeah. Just (again, in general) make sure that there's a valid page for the same book/edition on GR before deleting/invalidating/merging the invalid one. It can help to check the change log and Amazon. For potentially invalid editions that have been imported with cover images, I'd also double and triple check that there's a valid edition on the site with an identical cover.

What is a good rule of thumb for differentiating when to do these different procedures (deleting/invalidating/merging)?
