The list of suspects who may have orchestrated the abduction was pretty short. Who made your list and who was your main choice?

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I thought both of Keeley's best friends (one being her sister-in-law) and her mother-in-law were the only suspects. It seemed to me that Elizabeth was too obvious in her hatred to be the real culprit. I did get the right friend nailed down but I'm not sure what convinced me.

So Miranda and Jenna both made your list.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments Yes, they both did. Sometimes when authors stop talking so much about one of the suspects, I suspect (!) that they hope the reader forgets that person... I have to confess I was going on instinct rather than clues.

The mother-in-law seemed to obvious but I was gong back and forth between Miranda and Jenna.

lorii (Loriidae) I picked Jenna right at the start on her first appearance - then I started to second guess myself, like Kris, discounted the mil as too obvious and then began fluctuating between Jenna and Miranda - eventually decided not Miranda simply because she had a child and that the secret visits were to a lover of whom her mother would disapprove.

I think it's her personality...something about the way Jenna says stuff and the way she acts comes off a bit creepy (well, in my opinion anyway).

I went back and forth but I really was convinced it was Miranda. Jenna didn't seem to have a motive.

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 563 comments Mod
That was why I was going back and forth as Miranda seemed to have a stronger motive but I did not see her doing that to Keeley for some reason.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments Yeah, I did want to get more of Miranda's story. Maybe I was reading too fast and missed what she was doing when she was supposed to be under suspicion by readers....
