Verene turned and saw the limp body of Angel she started to cry. She now has seen 10 deaths in her life. She just want it all to end.

Blake and Alex stood deathly still unsure of how to react. Tears fell from blakes eyes before he even knew it

Verene knelt to the body and looked at Alex and Blake. "Help." She wanted to give her a peaceful spot to put her body in.

Immediatly blake and alex both started to help Verene

Xavier froze. It was too much. His eyes teared up. His fists clenched. He started shaking. His first love...killed herself. His hopes and his dreams of him and her having a happy family...gone. Just like that. It wasn't even too long after he confessed his love to her. Xavier's breath quickened as he fell to the ground, repeating the word "No" over and over again. He slammed his fists against the ground until it hurt. He didn't even care if he was giving the Capitol a show. He just knew he wanted to destroy it. All of it. Anger added to the mix of emotions Xavier was feeling. "Why?!" He screamed, loud enough to hear a mile away.

Alex came back to the forest and found Blake and Verene in the same place as normal. "Hey! where'd you go!" blake yelled at them

"sorry sorry" they said taking a seat.

"We heard the cannon. you can't do that to us" Blake said lightly punching Alex's arm

"I'm alive and uninjured." he paused then released a breath "Ananya on the other cant say the same"

Blake just scared for a minute "you?" is all he managed

Alex nodded "had to"

"were you attacked?" Alex shook their head.

"Only way to get you guys home. Jace saw and also is dead now" that means there are only 10 tributes left. only a few more people till alex dies

Verene saw the sorrow in Alex's eyes. She came up and Hugged Alex.

Alex folded into her enjoying the embrace. She reminded them of Simone.

Blake rest a hand on their shoulder "Thanks" was all he could say. Alex had gone and killed so Verene and Blake could go home

Xavier just sat there, hopeless and vulnerable. He didn't know what to do: Win the Games for his family or kill himself to reunite with Angel. Maybe both...somehow.

"I am sorry Alex, I am sorry." Verene said. She hated the thought Alex being mad or distress. She felt like she and Alex were more than friends but actual siblings.

Alex stepped back wiping away a few stray tears. "Thanks Ver" he didn't know where he came up with the nickname but it fit

Blake watched Xavier. It would be so easy to end him. He looked miserable any way. "Xavier, do you need anything?" he said going over to him and kneeling close enough he could be tackled but he didn't think Xavier was in the right mind set to attack

Xavier couldn't bring himself to get up. It was still too much to bear. Evening had fallen but Xavier knew he wouldn't be able to sleep. The death of Angel would poison his mind forever. "N-no, I don't think so," He mumbled, reminding himself of how easy it was to kill him right now. But he didn't care. Whether he was dead or alive didn't matter, right?

Blake reache a hand out and rested it awkwardly on Xaviers bicep. "hey"

Verene saw Xavier and sat near him. She hated that he loss someone important she then hugged him. "I am sorry but she is free from her thoughts." Verene said.

Alex came to Xaviers other side. He was surrounded but not by enemies but friends? that's at least what alex thought

Verene then stood up. She went to get Xavier's canteen. "Come on drink Xavier it isn't poisoned." Verene said. She gave him the canteen and went to Blake and leaned into him.

Blake leaned on Verene in turn. the force of each other holding them up. The same way they will hold each other up if they make it out

Xavier nodded. "I hate this. I-I hate the Games. I hate the Capitol," He said, burying his face in his hands. "Why...why must I be like this? I've already lost too much. I've lost the two people I love in this world the most. At least they are both literally angels now," He laughed, but it wasn't a happy one.

"you could always just give up" Blake said it so quietly he wasn't sure if he actually said it.

Alex wrapped an arm around Xaiver pulling him into their side "ill all work out

Xavier sighed. "If one of those ways is Angel magically getting revived then yes, yes it will," He said, a sad smile spreading across his face.

"if you died I would die no matter what. i could win and before they got me out i would be dead." he knew if Verene died there was no point in living

Alex glared at blake not even knowing what he said but sure it was deserving of a glare

"Blake just stop it. Okay please Xavier lost someone important." verene knows Blake has good intentions. But still.

Xavier cringed slightly but reminded himself it was none of his business anyway.

"I think we all need to rest." Verene said pulling Blake to the tree so Alex and Xavier rest in peace. Verene went up to her favorite branch and got comfy.

Xavier reluctantly got up, heading towards the forest to sleep in his sleeping bag. He squeezed his eyes shut as he climbed the tree, refusing to glance at Angel's empty sleeping bag and all the memories they made, even if it had only been a few hours.

Blake followed Verene letting her use him as a pillow as he watched the sky light up with those who had died that day.

Alex cried quietly a few branches away when he saw Anaya. He didn't want to kill her or anyone but he needed to make blake and Verene go home.
