The Shining has a terrific start. I've heard that most fans love The Green Mile. Personally I can't stand The Stand and can't understand Under the Dome.
Christine is a great one to start with, along with The Institute and ‘Salem’s Lot. If you read The Institute, see if you can catch the ‘Salem’s lot reference!! I would not start with IT, just because it’s soooo long (and has a disappointing ending 🫢)

Anything from the Bill Hodges trilogy is good: Mr. Mercedes, End of Watch, Finders Keepers. His short story collections are probably your best bet, and he has several. You get to read multiple stories, and see the different approaches he takes to each one.
I highly recommend If It Bleeds. If you've seen Mr. Harrigan's Phone on Netflix, then you're already familiar with the first story in the book.
The Running Man or Misery are great starts! Especially the Running Man because it is one of his shorter books, so it is easy to fly through
I am starting Stephen king soon in time for Halloween!! I have got Carrie and pet semetary, are they any good?
My first Stephen King book which I read as a kid pretty much was “Everything’s Eventual” which is a book of his short stories. It really made an impact on me as in I still remember and think about these stories over a decade later. I think it shows a pretty good range of what King writes because it’s not all the same. Later I really liked “The Outsider” and I want to read the Bill Hodges books as well.
