One night, her father got a bit too drunk, sent Elissa's mother away and tried to kill Elissa when she refused to renounce who she was. Left with no other choice when she realized he wouldn't let her leave alive in his anger, Elissa killed him, and buried herself with him. That wasn't who she- no, they- were anymore. They were a different person than what they were forced to be. They were free now. Neo left home the next morning, with a new name to symbolize their new life. They've been living on their own for a couple years now, and found out through a connection on the street that they could learn and live safely at the Academy. They were turned when they made a deal with a hungry vampire so they could both survive.
