Kevin Loder Finished introduction and excited with this book. Some of my highlights:

"Human beings have always organized themselves into bands of families, tribes, and teams that allow them to move through the world more efficiently and effectively."

"What makes organizations great--truly great and not temporarily successful--is not a single leader but a culture of self-leadership."

"When done right, a self-led team will always be superior to the antiquated methods of a hierarchical organization."

The mention of Barnes & Noble - absolutely, exciting comeback. Their new store by the Portland Oregon airport is small but world-class design. And something about a brand new bookstore scent is incredible. They're soon opening a new larger store in Salem, Oregon at a mall.

"The former organization mold--a pyramidal structure with one person at the top with all the authority--is no longer tenable."

"History maximizes the importance of heroes but minimizes the significance of teams."

"If you're ready to shake things up, make a real difference, and transform your life, career, and organization, it's time to change everything--starting with how much control we give the leader." - This brings to mind discussions about billionaires, the pros and cons to society of having so much wealth in one person (Elon, Musk, Gates, Bezos, etc.)
