In my household it's like, music and Qur'an can't exist in the same space and so it's not encouraged. Plus all the thing about the instruments etc

ah I see, tbh no one, esp my mom's side of the fam, thinks music is haram but NONE of them check the meaning behind the words etc so until last year, I listened to every song when my sister made the switch of checking the lyrics, which eventually led to me doing it too

I haven't ever been tested for Autism or ADHD but music helps me with over stimulation too. But sometimes when the instruments are too scratchy (idk how to explain) I get stimmy

I kinda get it, because it's REALLY easy for me to memorise lyrics and much harder to memorise Qur'an. While you could argue that that's because they're in English and Arabic is a whole different language, if I'm being honest I suppose that if I spent the same amount of time on Qur'an as I do music, I could memorise a lot more

I actually use music to help me learn new languages. Due to me listening to music I know a little bit of Russian, Spanish, Ukrainian and that's about it

I need to get diagnosed with autism again (inpatient took it off since I didn't act or looked it. I have high functioning) and I have combined type ADHD so music is a very helpful for me since I am very neurodivergent

The sun was constantly changing throughout the day. Consistent heat but it's extra hot now, but it keeps getting cool at night, it always looks like it's gonna rain but it doesn't

for those asking how I stopped, I learned about it during ramadan so I already wasnt really listening to it and after I tried to put something else om like Quran or an audiobook or podcast and when you find something you like its much easier.
I really struggle with it and tbh I still listen to it sometimes when I feel a strong urge and if I’m with friends and they play it or at my training ect
