Do you mean they sent you information about the..."
Sorry, sent me a promo post from Leigh Bardugo. I've never had an ARC, I'm very uncool lol

Gotcha. Thanks.

Color me surprised! I was not expecting results today!

my bad guys. I meant to post that in the mods group. I've deleted it, and results will be posted on Friday like they are supposed to be lolol
Also a note that the results could change... the close calls are pretty close so if we get 15-20 more votes like I'm expecting, they could shift. Keep your fingers crossed! And I appreciate y'all lol

Emily- Out of curiosity do you normally give the mods a 24hour heads up?
Yea, we usually talk in the mods group as we watch the votes come in and just confirm that what we are seeing is all in agreement. It has been known to change within the last 24 hours though. Last week's did actually.

Really? Sorry i thought you posted earlyish last week because there were so few votes the last day you were confident the results wouldn’t change?
... you're right lol I was thinking of the poll before that. One of our recent polls changed in the last 24 hours... poll 12? 11? Sorry I'm going to shut off GR now and go take a nap lol

Thanks

I can't find the winners listed anywhere!

I can't find the winners listed anywhere!"
The post was a mistake. I didn't see it either, which is just as well, since I hadn't voted yet.

Okay, fair enough!

haha I agree...and I'm thinking it's only Thursday morning here and Friday retults posting usually means I'll see it Saturday so still ages away!
Psst: We are now at a record number of votes for this poll, and some changes have happened that may surprise those of you who saw the results I accidentally posted yesterday!

And I know I've posted results early the last couple of times, but it will go to the bell tomorrow morning as I have a fun party tonight and I want to let every last vote to get in because it's close close.

As long at the accidentally posted top two stay in, I’ll be happy. Haha.

As lon..."
Dalex- if not I’m going to have new sympathy with the producers of La La Land LOL

You deserve to have fun and sleep! We're good waiting!

Have a great night - you deserve it!

Well if it doesn’t get in there’s always the unsuccessful prompt category. I actually haven’t achieved that because I only completed it once and I definitely used Brits and Americans

I've not done the whole challenge using Australian authors - but I'm sure it could be done. This year I have made a conscius effort to read more Australian authors (or at least know where the author are from) and have read 23 books by Australian authors - out of my total so far of 110 books read/listened. So probably still not as good as I would like.

In 2019 I did it using only Canadian authors. I had to change one of the prompts because it was an American award. I used an equivalent Canadian award.
It has influenced how I vote and made me aware of how American centric many of the prompts are.

Emily, if you would rather not use this one just let me know and I can delete. Thanks.

And I just realised Ceridwen Dovey's bio says grew up in South Africa and Australia. I've put her in my Australian author pile, but that would count too!
And I really enjoyed Adrian McKinty's The Chain

I did all Australian authors for the popsugar challenge a couple of years ago. It made it a really good challenge. I had to make minor modifications, eg changed muslim American author to Muslim Australian author

Regarding Edgar Awards only one of its awards must be American

You’ve worked on this. If generation X gets in this could be very useful

thanks for this - I am Gen X so I was intrigued by the idea, but it was just so hard to find an author who fit so I didn't vote for it. But this is a good resource.
