ANNOUNCEMENT
As before, please check the tracking spreadsheet (re)move any books you won't finish by tomorrow morning ET. Captains will close the tracking sheet @noon ET unless we hear there is a final book coming in.
The first 2 books I need to read in round 4 have genre words, so yay! Do you want us to post here and on the spreadsheet, Teddie?

I’m going to search murder in g major for some words. Maybe I’ll save it for next week.I have a book about the grunge music scene.
Murder I g major has spiritual and thats it so i will just finish it because that's probably one of the easiest words to find. Also it works for open letters I'll finish it while I make dinner.
I have found in Dirty Thirty= polkaand
A Life with Ghosts: True, Terrifying, and Insightful Tales from My Favorite Haunts = folk

Great start! I know - having only 4 letters makes it really tough. I've never even heard of a couple of these genres before - will be looking hard for a couple bonus books today too.
If anyone's interested, I'm using this book for "Noh" but The Ground Beneath Her Feet also has calypso, salsa, tango, and reggae with a character Umeed Rai Merchant (may have KLE - I don't know yet.) I've never read any Rushdie yet, but thought I would throw it out there :)
Underworld U.S.A #2 The Cold Six Thousand has Calypso and mambo. I'll add that too. The series has a U, E and good pages.
Good find Sana! I've marked you as "mambo" for American Tabloid, but good to know that can be switched to tango or bluegrass if anyone finds a mambo they want to read.
Hey Sana - will you be finishing Demon From the Dark soon? In other words, should we wait to check in?

Amazing round everyone!
This is soooo close!I'm excited to see how the last two rounds go - couple of books here and there and its anybody's game right now.
Delighted to be part of this amazing group of people. :)
I have a question does the genre actually have to be in the book or just the word mentioned? I have a book that has spiritual and tango in it.

I finished a book Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing has spiritual in it and Fan Fiction and Tango in it

Both books mentioned a few posts above this interest me. I'll see if I can get one or both. Night train to Lisbon in boring but I'm slogging through. I might switch to something more exciting to break it up a bit.
I checked out The Ground Beneath her feet and American Tabloid. Not going to add them until I know for sure that I will read them or if they're needed.
Kiss Me Catalina also had salsa but Amazon wouldn't show me the page number. I noted it on the sheet with the audio book time. Just in case mariachi shows up some where else however unlikely.
I finished Split images for Motown. Was out running around and didn’t know what to read next, so listening to American Tabloid because I know it has a few words and definitely letters

It took me a while to get used to the the short, precise dialogues and gangster style writing.
I did but I also got lost a few times. I checked out the audio and the ebook which helped because I could go to the kindle version if I lost the plot in the audio. I love noir type movies and books and have read Elmore Leonard, James Ellroy, Ed Mcbain quite a bit.I'll add links to my books today. I'm finding the sheets app on my phone very handy but it's a pain to do links.
I do the same thing Mary - try to get the ebook version and the audio - especially for BOMs :)Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving!
I forgot that we can only earn bonus points for 10 of the words. So I'm going to stop looking for the ones we haven't covered. I'll focus on finding letters instead. Looks like we're short some U's.
I think my reading of American Tabloid was used for the wrong word. I thought we could only get points for each bonus word once? American Tabloid was used for mambo both times. Mine should probably be used for bluegrass. (I think it also had tango in it if I remember correctly)

Updated to capture it for bluegrass! :)
I only noticed because I was checking how many words we had already to see if we had our limit covered.
Thanks Mary! Looks like we are set for our genre bonus. I switched my brown cover book for an "L" book instead.
I will probably still read the zydeco book because it works for letters. Reading Undercity now. Picked it for the U but it has all the other letters and a brown cover if it's needed.
I am enjoying finding as many "U" books as I can but seem to be running out. I have also been glad I have been able to enjoy some fantasy books this round.
How are we looking for ukulele spell outs? Wondering if I should save finishing Plantation shudders for trumpet? Do we need any last minute u’s for a ukulele? (No U in plantation shudders)

ROUND 5 INFO
Our round 5 word is TRUMPET
For the color bonus, we're looking for ORANGE for the next round.
The round is bonus is looking for Musician authors or MCs. See info here.
Less than 24 hours to go in round 4. As before, please check the tracking spreadsheet (re)move any books you won't finish by tomorrow morning ET. Captains will close the tracking sheet @noon ET unless we hear there is a final book coming in.

Fantastic round everyone! It's a close race going into the final round! Happy reading!
This is getting intense! Loving it.Team Classical has pretty much been our consistent competition. But Team Hip Hop has had an interesting rise - every round their score has gone up. One to look out for, I guess!
Excellent reading so far though - we will finish this on a high!
