We have a word with no rare letters - but we don't have many options - so this may be challenging, but we can rise to the occasion! We need to collect O's like they're rare jewels! Be on the lookout!

I just finished the Bowie book. If you use Libby or OneDrive to get ebooks from the library that series (The Last Interview) has collected select interviews and conversation with TONS of late celebrities, with several musicians. They are quick reads. If I get through with Me, The Lost Bookshop, and The Ashes of London (which I have to read for another challenge) I’ll see who else I can get the Last Interview of.Edit: it looks like the only other musician my library has is Prince. If I finish the other three in time I’ll get that one, too.

Daniel, how are you liking Me? I am reading it too, and I like it. Have you seen Rocket Man? I hope to watch that once I'm finished.I'm reading a Toscanini biography - he conducted Aida as one of his first operas. I looked it up to understand it better and came across Elton John's Broadway Musical of Aida. It's like having characters meet in different books :)

I’m liking it so far. It has a nice rhythm to it. Makes sense that he can make words move like a song.
I saw Rocketman in the theater and liked it. Taron Edgerton was fantastic and I enjoyed how they interwove the songs with the narrative.

Megan, I just finished The Birth of Loud: Leo Fender, Les Paul, and the Guitar-Pioneering Rivalry That Shaped Rock 'n' Roll - because I was inspired by your rating. I'm so glad I read it. It was a really good book.
I’m baaaaccckkk! Had a wonderful time this weekend! We went to see American Idol Iam Tongi in concert at Oahu’s Blaisdell Center. He was fabulous! I’m so glad we got to see him live. Runner-up Megan Danielle opened & he had some local special guests perform. After we stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for 2 nights. So beautiful and relaxing.

I think if you have read anything by Jay, he liked to go on the dark side of fantasy. But I love that genre. If you don't want to have darkness in your books, there are other lighter books to read.
But it's also the reason why i love Joe Hill. They see the absolute darkness at the core of humanity and they bring out the redeeming qualities among shades of gray. That takes true talent and character development and it's not easy to pull off.
Overall I would say the intro is shocking on purpose, but then there is a lot of just being at a school for assassins and the ruthlessness that comes with that. It's not nonstop blood or even gore. There's an intricate world, religions, and code of ethics. The cool thing is that at the core of it all Mia is really mostly an innocent girl fronting at being bad to survive. She does get hardened as the books develop after the betrayals and trials and trauma, but she has to get that way in order to face the ultimate trial in the last book.
