I read this book a year or two ago It may have been on a kindle. A girl is a governess in a big city. She has a pretty good job, but she chooses to leave to go see her father. He went west to seek his fortune when she was little and she had not heard from him until this. She may have also had a younger sister. The protagonist arrives in the small town where her father lives to find him dead. It turns out that the "money" he left to them was actually a brothel. Once the main character realizes this, she goes about trying to reform the brothel and the soiled doves into a respectable establishment and virtuous young women.

I love the phrase "soiled doves" -- is that in the book, or did you come up with it yourself?
This book is set in Medora, ND. I've been there many times. Lots of history.
The phrase "soiled doves" is in the book and it's a general term for prostitutes in the west. I prefer it to some of the other words out there.
