SOLVED: Adult Fiction > SOLVED. Adult Historical Fiction - Read the first 10 pages in 2021, it's about a history teacher (I think) who is getting drunk and does commentary on the situation in Nazi Germany. [s]

Marko | 3 comments So I only read 10-15 pages of the book in a lobby of a hotel. It had red covers. what I remember is that the main character liked to get drunk in a pub in which the bartender knew him (even tried to help him drink less). He was commentating on a Nazi convention that was happening in the USA (New York I think), where the start of the story is set. It is set a bit before the beginning of World War II.

Published when?
Literary fiction or mass market?
Author's gender?

Marko | 3 comments I don't know when it was published.
I'm not sure what's the difference between the two, but I would say it was more of a mass market kind of book, then some literary work of art.
I think the author was male.
