2 maybe 3 if it’s anything other than romance. A love triangle romance with 3 povs is dragging it

Im definitely more fond of single POV’smost likely because I don’t have to change my whole mindset to fit another POV
although I think i can gandle 3 at most
six of crows had six povs but I'm definitely picking favorites so i get less interested in other characters
i normally read books with 1 pov, but i love characters and all of that. i love books with 2-5 povs. i read unwind recently and that had a lot of povs. idk, yeah i like it when there’s a lot of different characters. OH i like books like wings of fire where it’s a big series but it switches povs with the books. i haven’t found another series like that that i like though 😞😞
After reading The Stormlight Archive (with 18 POVs in the first book alone), I can say for sure that I can handle as many POVs as the author wants to throw at me—if they're done right. It's not about the number; it's about how the author manages it. I think if each POV has its own purpose and voice, it feels natural to switch between them, even in massive, complex stories. But when a POV is just dropped in for no reason, it can get confusing and annoying and can totally throw off the pacing.
I don’t mind too many POVs. Nonetheless, I can only grow truly invested in the story of about five to eight characters. But if there are even more POVs than that, the execution has to be really good. The key is making sure each POV adds something to the story—whether it’s to reveal something new, move the plot along, or help build an emotional connection. If the shifts feel messy or forced, it can unfortunately ruin the whole flow.

Specifically, no more than two first-person POVs and the rest have to be outsider narration. The only time writing from every character's POV is justified is if you're applying the Rashomon effect, which makes it a device for story delivery. Even then, it has to be extremely well crafted as people are still reading the book, not watching a screen
I can read like five or six POVs in one book, I've read a book with seven (House of Hades) and I was perfectly fine with it.

Usually I prefer dual POV. If a side character has more of a role though, I like getting their POV too.
