Jennifer Oberth | 20 comments Hello!
I have a question about how to add an anthology to my current series. I've created an anthology with two other authors and we each have contributed a story in our current serieses.
How do we account for that in Goodreads? I want the anthology book cover (and book) to show as #8 in my series. The other two authors want the anthology book cover (and book) to show in the correct placement of their serieses.
How do we do that?
Thank you!

Happens all the time.

You'll need to list the book & the series here for a librarian to take a look at it.

Generally a book in an anthology is a novella so would get a fraction, eg #5.5 rather than a whole number, but if the existing series is novella length then it would be a whole number.

Yes, each of our series is novella-length stories, so we're doing the whole numbers. Good info for the future - thank you! I assumed the half numbers were for the author to stick in a story placed between two existing books.

Also, so I would add the book to Smashwords (Draft to Digital) and Amazon and once I see it's popping up here on Goodreads, I would come here and request a librarian look at it and make sure it's added to my series, the second author's series, and the third author's series? In each of our correct order? Is that the process?

The book is going to be free. Could I do the presale or preorder and then come here and ask a librarian to attach it to each of our series before it's actually released? Or would that complicate the process and I should avoid that for this one?

And thank you for such a fast response!

Sandra | 31511 comments Once the book is set for presale on Smashwords or Amazon, we could add the series details without a problem.

Ideally the series would be listed in order, but it doesn't really matter as they are going to different series/authors.
