Fall 23 Read-a-Thon: Team Cat

I found a 2.5 hour audiobook for the "related to history" prompt and managed to finish it this morning. It's The Pale Dreamer; the story revolves around the capture of a poltergeist who is the restless spirit of a historical murderer, Sarah Metyard (who really existed, and along with her daughter Sally, murdered and dismembered one of their apprentices, Anne Naylor).

Sorry Abbie if that spoils your plans but I thought it would help to get the prompt done! Hopefully you can find another place for your book, or if not it will still count towards rolls.

I did finish Birth of the Chess Queen: A History today. By my count that means our group has finished 25 books! Since there are 25 prompts, I did a little shuffling to so they all would be filled, which means...

I will continue reading my final book selection, The Stone Diaries, but I probably won't finish it today since I haven't gotten very far into it yet.

I'm expecting to finish Empire of Pain: The Secret History of the Sackler Dynasty before I go to sleep tonight, as I only have a few chapters left and it's due back to the library this week, but since we've filled all the prompts I won't worry too much about where to slot it in.

Y'all are wonderful! I was so sick yesterday and all I did was read and sleep, so... apologize that I let go of my captaining duties! But I'm glad we finished up!
