The book I like the most and have reread almost every year on Halloween is Laird Koenig's novel "The Little Girl who lives down the Lane" which was filmed with Jodie Foster and Martin Sheen in the mid 1970's.
I devote the month of October to selections from the horror genre. We celebrate Halloween by putting up a huge display dedicated to movie horror icons and scary things that go bump in the night. As to my favorite book it is SOL. Hannibal Lector. If we take Thomas Harris out of the equation I loved The First Deadly Sin by Lawrence Sanders. I have read it several times over the years. It is haunting. There are a select few of serial killer thrillers that manage to deliver in spades. Mo Hayder's books come to mind.
As with film and music, I try not to try to limit a genre. However, choosing a favorite book is as difficult as choosing a favorite film and song. I prefer classic literature such as 1984 written by George Orwell, The Little Prince written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, and The Metamorphosis written by Franz Kafka.
Miriam wrote: "Favorite book of all time Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton."I agree. This book changed my life. I realized how magical books could be read and also how voracious I became when a book sucked me in.

Agreed, it's one of Crichton's best. I know it's cliche, but the books in the series really are far superior to the movies. They have the geneticists filling in the gaps with bird DNA and explain the use of frog DNA (which left me stumped in the movie), and they explain why the Velociraptors are out-of-control monsters rather than a pack of cooperative predators. The movies were great. The first one was my childhood fantasy come to life--seeing dinosaurs come to life--but the books!
(English)The book that I liked the most is IT by Stephen King.
(Español)
El libro que más me a gustado, es IT de Stephen king.
It is hard to pick 1, but I would recommend Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, and the best I have read this year is The invisible life of Addie Larue by V.E. Schwab.
Ronald, I love the McPhee and his other books. He makes Alaska and its people and animals come alive on the page.
The Count of Monte Cristo. The book appealed to me on a deep level. Revenge and retribution, intellectual intrigue, love, money, violence... and slow burning at that.
My recent favourite would be Good to Great . Never enjoyed reading case studies but this book never felt as one 😊
Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson.I know that it’s the 2nd book in a series but it absolutely blew my mind.
My favorite book of all time, well I have 3 lol, so at my favorite book of all time is Dune, 2nd favorite is the Shining, next up is the Martian, May the Force be with everyone!
As with most readers it's difficult to choose one but if pushed I would go for The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman by Laurence Sterne. For nostalgia's sake I would choose The Weirdstone of Brisingamen by Alan Garner.
