Is Shadow and Bones series good for guys??

So my boyfriend's and I anniversary is soon and for Christmas last year I got the shadow and bones series. I haven't really tried it but I thought it would be a good series for him since I probably can't buy a lot of things. He likes thriller, horror and fantasy but doesn't really like romance all that much. Is it a good series to give him?

I think that if he likes fantasy this could be a good option. There is a love interest but it's very subtle and doesen't take all the space on the plot.

I would recommend to you - from the same author - the "Six of Crows" series, maybe it could be a better match.

Try look it up and see if it could be more appealing for him from your point of you, you surely know him well enough to tell. :)
