September Subdue the Shelf Roll Requests
Joanne wrote: "And may I be the first to toast AnitaHere is to you Anita, for all you do, for all you have done! Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Omg, you are the sweetest! The members here are so so supportive; there's no way I'd have made it through without the kind thoughts and private messages. Amazingly, I managed to even depart the job on good terms. They were like if you ever want work, reach out (um, thanks but no thanks).

Be sure to throw in a little blues music for me.
The Cabanna Boys assured me that our DJ has a superpower that pulls from thin air whatever piece or style of music any of us could want or think of. Don't be shy!Another toast to Anita! For forming this awesome group 15 years ago and leading us to this moment!
Some Blues with Billie Holidayhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4bZu...

I always love Billie Holiday. What a great voice! I will have to grab a cabana to slow dance with.
The Cabanna Boys have been practicing their dance moves and are ready to partner! I see the firefighters stepping it up too!I want to see everyone busting out some moves

Ready for my next roll (1).Finally made it out of the land of the giants and into the shorter books at the end of my board. Whew!

Great job, Sue! That's a real accomplishment!
Anita, that was one hell of a party! Welcome Back. My feet are so tired! (Literally).I am ready for a one dice Porter roll. Can't wait to see what happens next.
I am ready for another roll, please! (2 dice)My last book was 512 pages:

Amy wrote: "I have a 6 followed by a 4. Is that the special advantage? Or a booby prize?"Anita posts in the first comment each month what the special rolls are. I think this is a booby prize -- 6,5 or 5,6 has you reading from another board before moving on.
6, 4 is definitely a special advantage. Here's the language from the list of special rolls:"6-4 Earn a surprise advantage to use anytime during the game"
It has also been clarified that it works also for 4, 6
My understanding is that 6,4 and 4,6 are both good, Anita will tell you what your special advantage will be.
Robin P wrote: "My understanding is that 6,4 and 4,6 are both good, Anita will tell you what your special advantage will be."Oh, that's right! That's the fun one Anita is very creative with. I won one in Clerk!
Amy wrote: "I have a 6 followed by a 4. Is that the special advantage? Or a booby prize?"Lol, special advantage!
To calculate how far ahead you can move, I want you to think about the last two places you spent overnight outside of your hometown. Find the zip codes and add all the individual digits together.
i.e. if the zip codes were 21202 and 34211, you would add 2+1+2+0+2+3+4+2+1+1= 18 spaces.
You can move forward that number. Please let us know the places and zip codes. This advantage may be used at any time once you have calculated the number, but the number needs to be calculated this week.
BUT-Anita zip codes are 5 digits (and more with the special PO box # after them????)-Did you mean area code? Even that is 3 numbers...Amy would be off every board! Am I missing something? Did you mean just the last 2 digits of the zip code?

I edited to show an example!

LOL-I did not even remember that is how we have been adding numbers-as always I blame the lack of caffeine!

Amy is in luck if she has been to the West Coast recently, though I don’t think she’s had time for that.
I love how creative the special rolls are!

I'm ready for my next roll please. Note I used a SUB for my most recent book. I was having difficulty hearing the names and locations in God of Small Things in the audio. (I'll try again with the print book later.) The replacement, The Marriage Portrait, is about 20 pages longer than the first book, in all formats.
I am using a tag-related benefit to move forward 2 spaces, so I will be on space 24. I'll note this on my Board.

Especially when you are recovering from your blowout of a Welcome Back Slumber Party.😉
OK, the last two places I have been I believe overnight, has been Bloomington, Indiana, and Milford, Pennsylvania. Obviously I wouldn’t use the extra postal codes. And I haven’t looked it up yet. But this one is really fun. Especially since I had absolutely come to terms and reconcile that I would never finish the Porter board. But how does the advantage work? Like, for instance, I’m perfectly happy with staying on 42 and reading the Crimson thread. But do I ask for a roll and if I don’t like it, then I can use it? Or I just decide to use it instead of a roll because that doesn’t sound right? Do I add the roll to the special vantage or is a Special advantage in place of the roll?

I use zipcode finders constantly as I need yo include them in legal documents when an address included.
I totally did it. I just hadn’t reported it yet. I just haven’t looked them up when I saw the advantage. ZIP Code picked was for Bloomington Indiana IU. Pretty much the ZIP Code we stayed at. I didn’t see that there was more than one but I’m pretty confident the one I have is the right one.
Thanks, Theresa & AnitaThat brings me to a 5-6 so I'll be reading 2 books this roll
Meantime, weather's taken a turn and we'll be hitting 30C (86F) today plus all the hazard reduction (or back burning) which made it really smoky outside, I be hangin' inside the house with my books like a Happy Little Vegemite (okay, now you can bring on the strange food comment! lol)
Milford, PA = 18337, Bloomington at IU + 47405 = 44 spaces. That was a hell of a jump. I might use it next after the Crimson Thread. I assume I roll and then I can use the advantage.
May I have my next dice roll (4), please. Thanks! The awful book I just read is listed at 736 pages on Amazon.

I'm ready for another roll (2). Since I'm on space 99 I should be off the clerk board with this roll.

Glad to hear someone else likes contemporary music - I'm with you, Anita!"
That's so fun, Joy!!! I feel like an anomaly in our age group, so it's very nice to hear I am not alone.
