Martin | 35611 comments What is the source of the scan?

message 3: by Ash (new)

Ash (yarofei) | 75 comments A scan of the book I own

message 4: by Martin (new)

Martin | 35611 comments Is it the front cover?

message 5: by Ash (new)

Ash (yarofei) | 75 comments Yes, I guess. The booklet is bound like a pamphlet or feuilleton: it lacks like a proper cover of a harder paper or material

Martin | 35611 comments I don't understand 'I guess', either it is the front cover or it isn't.
The only image I can find online is at Jstor and that looks more like a frontispiece https://www.jstor.org/stable/communit...

Ash (yarofei) | 75 comments I mean, I'm not sure if that's properly considered a cover neither in general nor for Goodreads' particular policy on this, less with it being an odd old publication. It's actually like the equivalent of an usual cover as well as it could be counted as a first page (?) As I said, the format of the book from which my scan comes from lacks any other further cover or whatever, it just starts as such with that kind of frontispiece paper page. The one in the image you found, however, actually seems more likely to have had an external cover outside from what I see.
If you think this qualifies as a cover to be added, do it; otherwise don't and sorry for asking. I don't know what more can I say about this, but cool that you're taking this serious and don't just upload whatever they send you

Martin | 35611 comments Is the front just a blank page? And are you sure that is how it was issued?

message 9: by Ash (new)

Ash (yarofei) | 75 comments Yes.

And I would definitely say so. It's bounded newspaperly, as a feuilleton, in the way so many cheap books used to be: thus I don't think it ever had a cover to eventually get lost

Martin | 35611 comments Thanks.
I have asked about this in the 'questions' folder to see if we can use the image. Let's see what other librarians say about it.
