I finished

(view spoiler)[ I enjoyed it. That's one weird crazy family. The games, puzzles, the mother of had 4 sons with 4 different fathers.

Tobias has been playing games for so long that even in death he still had the upper hand.

I kike Nash the best, was sneaky of him to say he didn't want the money but invested and had money of his own.

The Thea and Rebecca's story didn't really add anything to the story and Emily being so in charge of everybody was a little too far fetched.

Was a surprised to know that Avery had been playing with Toby. Did his father know that he was still alive and why Avery? (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I thought this was so much fun! I love puzzles and riddles, so I had a great time reading this book. I wish I had read it with my eyes instead of listening to the audiobook because I would have been able to follow the clues better. But it was still fun and kept me interested.
The ending was kind of disappointing, only because now I need to read the next book! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[It was so much fun to read - I don't know if you guys read The Naturals series by the same author but the vibe is very similar, from what I remember.

I loved all the puzzles and the mysterious aspect, though I did feel like the whole "she was shot at" situation entered and exited the story extremely quickly, even with the pacing.

I'm looking forward to the next one, mostly because I feel like Xander and Nash especially didn't have much of a presence in this book, so I'm excited to see more of them in the future. Also, Libby, because I feel like she vanished from the story after her ex's arrest.

Did you guys like the love triangle with Avery? I'm not normally a fan of those, and I've already picked my favorite brother lol

As for the reveal about Toby, the grandfather HAD to have known he was still alive. Avery found pictures of her life from when she was six, and the book states one where she was playing chess with Henry (although the next sentence says one could only see the backs of their heads so idk if that was that picture or the one of them in line for breakfast) but this man is very clearly several games ahead of everyone else playing, there's no way he didn't know. OMG, you guys I was so focused on the Readathon, I forgot this book was also a group read lol. My bad! I just finished it today, I hope everyone else enjoyed it :)

(view spoiler)[I gave it 4.5 stars and can't wait to start reading the rest of the series! The ending was great in my opinion. While other things throughout the book were a bit more obvious for me, I didn't at all think the man she played chess with was indeed Tobias Hawthorne the 2nd! (hide spoiler)]
