Lillian Frost is working as a salesgirl in Los Angeles. It's 1937 and Lillian bombed out as an actress but she doesn't want to return to New York. Lillian's former roommate Ruby Carroll is found murdered and Lillian is questioned. She recognizes the dress Ruby was wearing as one featured in a Paramount film which leads the investigation to Edith Head. Soon Edith and Lillian are joining in on the investigation. This was a fun start to the series. Several Hollywood names from the time make appearances throughout the book. I do plan on continuing the series.
