(view spoiler)[Damn, promising start! The woman’s thread got cut and she should’ve died, but she’s alive and attacked Io, who can see threads and cut them herself. And then she met her soulmate, who didn’t seem too happy to see her. I wonder what crimes she committed, I can’t freaking wait!

The woman definitely kills criminals then, honestly quite cool - but who created her? Okay so there’s a mob too, and her sister Ava is part of it, AND her lover too. The ‘other-borns’ always come in pairs or in threes, the first sister is the maker of threads, the second the elonger and such & the youngest the cutter, so she’s the youngest. Trying to keep it all straight lmao a lot of info! I wonder why they joined the mob though?

Thais didn’t seem to nice, wonder what happened to her. Wtf Thais wanted her to cut the fates thread, she was definitely just jealous and either made up the story about him being with someone or it was just family. What a bitch, already don’t like her. Edie is high up in the gang, can’t wait to find out more. I do think he knows who Io is to him though. And Ava is only a singer luckily. Loving this so far! She’s going to work with Bianca - I think she also knows who Edei is to Io, I don’t trust her ass. (hide spoiler)]

I would definitely have many threads too, I fully emotionally commit to everything I own 🤣 But omg I didn’t know she’d cut her own thread to cut someone else’s damn???? That’s going to be trouble I’m scared. I still feel like she’ll give up her bond thread and I’m scared.

The journalist is either going to be trouble or he’ll die idk. I can’t keep all the other-borns/gods straight though damn, like the violent deaths one - what exactly do they gain, sitting at the place where a violent crime happened…?

Omg her best friend Rosa is with the police, how did she not know that? Hmmm. And the fact that no one said who was behind the original mob chaos in the old days is so odd - I’m secretly guessing Bianca? It’s definitely going to come back. The suspense is already killing me! Glad Edei is alright though, he’s way too nice.

I still don’t get Thais’ deal, she was mad at Io for not wanting to cut a thread, what a bitch. And she lives close by without telling Io, poor thing.

HOT DAMN what action!!!! They finally met Horatio who was a dick lol, and he got killed by the new wreath, and she nearly got killed (again) too aaaah!! I ADORE Nico but I’m already scared to death he’s going to die, I just know he will :( he’s too good :( Edei came to save her hihi yay! The animal fight was brutal though damn. LOVING it so far! Omg she’s going to cut a thread that’ll end the world aah!!! I hope it’s not about her thread with Edei. And omg they hinted the gods are still alive, the Nine were so intense but also staged - and all the art about her was so creepy! But it’s so cool that they can divine the future through their arts. Why didn’t she just ask them the question they wanted aaargh!!!!

Holy shit the Phobosborn was creepy! I love how extensive the world is, and surprisingly, its not even that confusing. I love Chimdi, Nico and Edei🤣 uhm the description of the fury-born - that’s clearly those women now????? Seeing peoples crimes wtf, how obvious??? They clearly didn’t die out then.

Saint-Yves depiction of otherborn is terrible??? Omg Thais is engaged to that Saint-Yves dude??? Fuck I hate her so much. OMG SAINT-YVES IS BEHIND THE WRAITHS!!!! That’s so intense omg how??? I’m loving Rosa tho, glad she’s not evil lol. I know they haven’t even spoken yet but I’m shipping Nico and her already. (hide spoiler)]

Ava is sleeping with Bianca? Damn dude, is she poisoning her or something. It’s weird that they’re together ngl, don’t like Bianca - I can’t freaking get a read on her. I hate that she won’t do anything, but I’m happy about Io’s badassness, although it’s weird that she went from a complete wuss/scared of everything to this. I wish she’d just let Thais be honestly, she’s not worth it. She really was a bully and massively sucked, so I hate that Io keeps mentioning her. I’m guessing she cut her home thread? Not sure what to think of Amos, I don’t really trust them for some reason - they’re just such a random character?

Hmmmmm I think I'm giving this a 3.75 star. I never give quarter ratings but this needs it I think lol. I have to admit I was anticipating this one quite a lot because of how STUNNING my Fairyloot edition is and how much I knew I'd enjoy the reading experience. And this was a good read, although it felt a little younger than I was expecting. I didn't realise it was a mystery going in, and that's on me, but I don't love mysteries. I also had to make a little note to keep track of the terms and their abilities. It started to go a bit over my head towards the end but that's just because I'm lazy when it comes to remembering mysteries. I think I'll continue the series! I really loved the sister dynamic in this one, it felt so true to how some families are

I've done 12 so far which is my second-lowest month of the year, mostly because I had a DNF that took me 6 days lol (I do count DNFs though). Also I've had some pretty big books. Hoping to get another 1-2 read this month but honestly we'll see.
