[Closed] Please Delete

Hi,

Pam Jenoff noticed that there was a book added under her name to Goodreads that she didn't write--it isn't her book and isn't available anywhere for sale either, so I tried to fully delete it, but there's too much activity for me to delete it with the regular Goodreads Librarian status.

For now, I've removed the cover that incorrectly had Pam's name on it, changed the author name to "Not a Book" so that it will stop linking to Pam in the search, and have marked it as "Invalid," but would someone be able to please remove this title fully?

If it is not her book and she has no knowledge of it, it should simply be moved to another profile. If it is believed that there is something dodgy going on, it should be handled by support.

Will you please stop deleting info from the book? As Scott said, if there is something dodgy going on, Pam should be contacting Support.

Maybe there is another author with the same name.

• Another caution: That book record has a Kindle ASIN identifier. Deleting a book with a valid ASIN or ISBN is done only in rare circumstances, and then only by staff. For example: a book that was not published and never will be published would be referred to staff for verification and possible deletion. We ask that no information be deleted from a record before submitting it for merging.

• Deleting a valid book record such a this one can cause loss of librarian privileges, as can vandalization such a removing the cover or the author name without sufficient cause.

After seeing the articles about books being Al-generated and using authors' names earlier this week, I mistakenly thought this was the same situation, especially since this book does not exist anywhere except for Goodreads as the ASIN is not active. I understand your comments and will be more careful in the future when looking at creation dates and past updates.

This book was imported in 2017 by an Amazon bot (not one of the ones making such a mess of things at the moment).

It often happens that Kindle editions go "out of print" fairly quickly and then cannot be found on Amazon or elsewhere anymore.
