☆ eleftheria ☆ (anotherwallflower_) | 126 comments I've never read a fantasy book, but I'd like to start. Any recs that won't be too hard to understand?

Marilave L | 3 comments I would recommend throne of glass especially the prequel the assassin's blade. it's such a beautiful. it is a big series but I think if you start with the prequel it isn't that overwhelming. to me it felt like I was in a adventure game the entire book.

Charlotte | 63 comments I’d say either A Court of Thorns and Roses series, Throne of Glass series or The Shadowhunters series. Caraval series by Stephanie is also a must read! I’d suggest reading the Caraval series before you read Once Upon A broken heart.

caitlin elisabeth (rin’s version) | 7 comments I love Sarah j mass books, but I’m not sure if they’d be the best to start with. I started with the cruel prince trilogy, but it’s up to you!

First getting into fantasy I really liked The Jewel trilogy by Amy Ewing, there are audiobooks and I listen to them a lot still!

Serpent and Dove by Shelby Mahurin was also just such a good plot/romance and not too confusing (at least for me). It's also a trilogy so not too overwhelming. I looooove Maas books, but trying to understand the connections between the different series' can be hard lol.

Olalla (Taylor’s Version) | 228 comments It depended in what you are looking for :

More romance than fantasy but really addictive
- ACOTAR
- Vampire Academy
- Shatter me
- Crave

More fantasy than romance ( but still )

- The Cruel Prince
- Throne of glass
- Any Brandon Sanderson Book
- Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows

My personal favs ( most of them in between fantasy and romance) :

- Fourth Wing
- Once Upon a Broken Heart ( I think this is one of the best to start with )
- THE CRUEL PRINCE

Then , if you are younger I recommend you start with Percy Jackson

Nanna Thrane | 177 comments "caraval", but mostly so you will pick up "once upon a broken heart" which is an easy book to understand the worldbuilding , and the story and romance is perfect
