Moving ASIN from deleted edition

Hi,

I merged two editions by author's request.

Now, the deleted one has the ASIN, so I can't add it to the remaining edition.
Please, help.

What can I do to avoid this issue next time?

Deleting an edition with a valid ASIN is against GR policy, so you should not have done that. What you should have done is merge the edition without ASIN and add a cover from Amazon to the one with ASIN.
I went ahead and corrected the records.
