Hello everyone! I am going to get the discussion here started....

I'm still learning to use Goodreads myself and appreciate your patience as I figure all of this out :)

I hope you have all been able to get a copy of the book. I'm currently borrowing my copy from the local library. Libraries are the best!

Starting next week I will begin posting weekly discussion questions, but at anytime, feel free to connect with your fellow Gators.

You can post your own questions and discussions, and of course, commenting and engaging with others is highly encouraged.

So very excited to dive into this book together. As a reminder, our Zoom discussion will be held September 27th, 6PM PST.

I'm planning to be fairly active on the discussions here and hope you will join me and your fellow Gators on our discussion boards.

Once again, I am so excited to have you join me!

Celeste Leon | 1 comments HI fellow book club aficionados,
I am really enjoying this magical read! I have a couple questions for you!
1. This is a small point (slight spoiler alert) but on page 63, Celia reads letters of condolence, some which contain marriage proposals, and states out loud to herself "I am already married..." as she twists the ring on her right hand. Do you think metaphorically married to the circus she may soon join? Perhaps her father forbid marriage?
2. We are introduced to Chandresh fairly early as he reads a bad review about his performance but we don't know what that performance is (again a spoiler alert but only if you have not started) I wonder if his talents, other than starting the circus, will be revealed....perhaps his character will be more developed.
I look forward to any opinions and to our discussion!
Cheers,
Celeste

Great questions, Celeste! Sorry for my slow reply.

1. I felt that Celia does feel metaphorically married, but to her task at hand and not solely the circus. She has spent her entire life training for a competition her father reveals very little about, and she is completely devoted to that.

2. I am now much further along in the book, and I am finding I start having more questions than answers! Chandresh remains as mysterious as ever for me.

My general curiosity, what is everyone's favorite attraction at the night circus? If I could visit, I would stop by the wishing tree immediately! I am consistently impressed by the author's imagination and how her descriptive writing feels so immersive. I want to try a chocolate mouse watch Poppet and Widget's act in person!
