It's a heavy one, by quantity (it contains hundreds of pages) and quality (it's pretty philosophical). Ithink it's entirely in black & white colors.

Hmm, that sounds like the novel Wizard Of Pigeons by Megan Lindholm, Robin Hobb(January 1, 1986) Mass Market Paperback. Maybe there was a graphic adaptation.
