Did you attend Gen Con 2023? Thoughts?

My most recent was kind of tough because I'm dealing with some stress this year; a stand out series of events for me where the Puppetry centric events ( Puppet Slam and Puppet Karaoke ). Both events and the community has inspired me to go deep into the Puppetry courses at Gen Con 2024.

Otherwise I hung out with friends, found a Japanese Themed Tiki Bar ( Strange Bird ), and played a few of my favorite games.

I had a great Gen Con in 2023! I did no GMing and had the whole con to do as I pleased and enjoy events I wanted to do. Battletech, Daggerheart, Old Gods of Appalachia were my high points.

The crowd was a bit much though, even for an extrovert.

Old Gods of Appalachia really appeals to me, but I've only looked at it from a surface level. I love the idea of spooky eldritch horror in the Appalachia.

You should absolutely listen to the podcast, and although I'm new to the rules the Cypher System looks super snappy and fluid!
