Paula Cappa | 68 comments For all Goodreads Librarians. FYI. Have you seen this? Author and Marketing expert Jane Friedman posted yesterday about "the flood of AI content now published at Amazon [and Goodreads] sometimes attributed to authors in a misleading or fraudulent manner."

She says "Garbage books are getting uploaded to Amazon where my name is credited as the author."

And she apparently is not the only author this is happening to. Please read this:

I hope you can look into this for the good of all writers and authors. Much appreciated.

RoXXie | The Art of Reading (roxxiesixx) | 202 comments I had a befriended author hitting me up because there is a book on Amazon with her named as author and linked to the author page. She asked me to monitor Goodreads if the book shows up and to unlink or even delete it.

I really hope we won't have a lot of work with this issue. But hope dies last, right?

Elizabeth (Alaska) Yes, this has been going on for several months now. We have requested the bot to stop, but to no avail.

As Corinne pointed out, removing books like that is something that must be done by staff, not librarians. In the case cited here, the author would need to contact staff herself to request that the book be removed.
