Is it just me or is tsitp show so much better than the books

I was recommended tsitp by a friend, dragged myself through the first book and when the show came out I was like "no." But now I've watched ever episode and LOVE it. I think that the books are written towards 11 y/o with the story supposedly for 14-15 y/o. Does anyone agree, or should I reread and try to get through the trilogy? lmk

the second season sucks absolute ballssss but the first season was everything

i just started ep 1, i havent finished it. im not liking it that much. for me the books were like a 4-5 stars overall.
should I continue the tsitp tv show?
