First Fail!

I tried to read a book by Isabel Allende, but literally read the first page and gave up. Now I am short a foreign language book. A part of me wanted to try to read Anne Frank but I believe I may have read it before in school (I want new books), plus I've already read several books on the Holocaust lately. Anyone have any suggestions?

Not sure if this has been filled by now, but I plan on reading The Neverending Story! loved the film growing up and it has been on my to-read list for a couple of years now

I enjoyed Planet of the Apes. I also thought about reading The Little Prince. I read the Ruby Red books for my trilogy, and really enjoyed them.
