However, when I skimmed through subsequent posts later I didn’t see any comments on it. So I for one am grateful for the prompt you entered...."

It's absolutely fine that you submitted the prompt you wanted. It's just that I felt bad because I said I would submit a version for someone else that included the things they wanted. I should have been clearer in the wild discussion.

Pearl | 500 comments I had 8 Upvotes this round! Half were newer ideas, and half were core topics that I would like to see every year.

My two favorites are:
Summertime blues. It's a versatile concept, like the Pride prompt. I like the mental health angle.

History/Historical fiction. Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres. It sounds rather dull compared to the other prompts this week, so I hope it still has a chance.

KP | 191 comments I started out with 5 upvotes and 3 downvotes, but after reading the comments, and lists, I'm thinking twice about those downvotes.

I think twins is too limited and you don't always know if there are twins in the story until later. There are some very diverse suggestions this week, and I'll be interested to see how voting goes.

Rachel A. (abyssallibrarian) | 3270 comments I ended up going 5 up and 3 down. My downvotes were catchphrase, moon phases, and summertime blues because I really no clear idea of how to approach them in a way that makes enough sense to me for the book to be "related to" aside from maybe the catchphrases now that there have been so many examples (and even then, it seems like nearly anything can fit unless you pick your phrase first).

My upvotes were: neurodiverse, gender-neutral name, JQZX, "X Marks the Spot" and the NPR list. I was initially indifferent to the gender-neutral name prompt, but then realized I have Taylor Adams on my radar as a priority author to read next year, and books by Jesse Q. Sutanto, as well as authors with names such as Nic or Alex on my list so it seems like there's a good amount of options.

I am hoping Historical Fiction makes it through too. I realize GOOD historical fiction is one of my favorite genres... an engaging story and I usually learn something too.

Jill (dogbotsmum) | 1356 comments 4up and 4 down for me. Ups were JQZX, X marks the spot, the gender-neutral name prompt and the twins.
Downs were Summertime Blues, Staff pics, Neurodiverse as we have that every year it seems to me, and Catchphrase , as it seems too wide

First I thought that it was not quite what I meant but still thankful for helping me out. After looking at the list though I am more than content - I am so grateful and you did a fantastic job so thank you very much! 🌺🌷🌼

Nike | 1658 comments I believe this was the most difficult poll! I wanted to vote for every single one of the suggestions! I seldom downvote anyway but this time I was really struggling to decide.

message 110: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 3066 comments I agree. I would be happy (or at least ok) with ALL the prompts. So, no surprise — 8 upvotes.

I think I have a good mix of list related, author related, cover related, genre, character related, and some that just sound fun!

Karin | 758 comments I had a few downvotes, but the odds of having a list where I am sure I'll still want to read all of them next year are extremely tiny :)

message 112: by Alicia (new)

Alicia | 1490 comments I had a lot of feelings for this week. I went with 4 up and 4 down.

My 4 ups were:
- a catchphrase: I'd read a cozy mystery with a fun pun
- traditional full moon names: just love the creativity of tying books to this
- summertime blues
- touch of magic

If I had more votes, I would have upvoted JQZX and author/character with a gender neutral name (I call my daughter Charlie)

message 113: by Stacey (new)

Stacey D. | 1908 comments All of these choices were so interesting and innovative. In the end, I went with the catchphrase, full moon names (I love these two), staff picks because I love a good list and gender neutral names (like mine). My downvotes were X marks the spot, lock 'n key, magic and neurodiversity.
