Dwagon | 3 comments Please add the book Transition (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8... ISBN 0553288504) to the series Starfarers by Vonda N McIntyre (https://www.goodreads.com/series/5595...). Transition is book #2 in the series.

If "Perejimas" is listed as book #2 in the series, please delete it and replace it with Transition.

I have tried to make this change myself, but I am unable. I went to the page to edit the series, clicked "+ add books", got a pop-up saying "Add Book to Series", entered a search term, pressed the "Search" button, and it is spinning forever without giving me any search results. As a result I have no way to add that book myself, even though I have librarian access. So I'm hoping someone else can help. Sorry to bother you, and thank you for the help!

Sandra | 31515 comments Transition is already listed as book #2 in that series. There are 16 editions in various languages.

The book that shows on the series page list is usually the default edition, ie the book with the most shelvings.

It could be that it isn't the one with the most shelvings at the moment as there is a bug regarding default editions.

You can see here that Transition is already listed as book #2, so there isn't anything that can be done by a librarian.

Dwagon | 3 comments Thank you for the explanation!

Unfortunately the edition that is being auto-selected by the website is not the best choice to select. Is there a way to change that?

The primary edition should be the English-language version of the book, not a translation. Is there a way to change the edition that shows on that series page or which edition is the default edition, so it uses the English-language version of the book rather than the translation?

I can't tell which one has the most shelvings but it certainly seems strange to choose a translation (Perėjimas https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...) over the original English language publication (Transition https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...).

Unfortunately not.

It's never been about the original language of a book. It's always been the default edition.
