It will be free to download on the 20th of July, this Thursday and I will greatly appreciate your readership and reviews.
The Age of Discovery Volume I: Marco Polo is a history book and it is the first in a series that describe chronologically the more significant geographic discoveries, the lives of prominent travelers and explorers, as well as certain significant developments in the New World (such as piracy or slavery).
The book narrates the story of Marco Polo and the Polo family, their epic journeys throughout Eurasia, the rise and fall of the Mongol and Latin empires, the Silk Road, and the way they all shaped the lives of the Polos and charted the routes of their epic journey. It provides a historically true account of captivating and thought-provoking events, intertwined with a fascinating historical adventure, all written in a light-hearted and easy-to-read manner.
It puts a greater weight on the big-picture historical events as opposed to having a strict focus on the life and biography of one person. It also provides interesting insights into how such events forced the Polos to take certain routes. Last, but not least, it associates historic events with present-day realities in a slightly satiric but nonetheless valid final chapter.
While this is a history book, you will not find the usual academic dry, complex, formal, fact-rich text, filled with references. It is written in a simple, engaging, easy-to-read style, which at times can be even amusing.
I can provide PDF or EPUB copies to readers who would consider reviewing (please email me, see below) and you can also get it for free on the 20th of July this Thursday directly from Amazon.
I will be very grateful if you read it, very happy if you enjoy it, and will greatly appreciate it if you can provide an HONEST REVIEW.
With gratitude and best regards, Joe Lee Roger Joe.lee.roger1650@gmail.com
