I also vote for the "did you notice..?" since some details can be easily overlooked in big series and books
I just looked it up and damn!! It would cost me 63usd to get the book to my place. The shipping and customs charges are just as high as the price of the book itself.I'm hoping Amazon in our place will list it a bit cheaper when the pre-orders go live (which they haven't yet) because if not, as much as I would love that hardcover I'll wait for the Kindle edition I think.
Amazon UK might be the better option? I know the listing is up for that, as well. I'm not sure about the shipping/custom for that though. (or if there's any sellers in the EU who will have it), Amazon.fr had it in euros, but like almost as much in shipping. :/
I know this one has sat quiet, but anyone still reading or fallen behind? This one is foundational to everything that follows, so staying the course through it to the ones beyond is highly rewarding!
Just finished book 2, and I ditto Chibipoe--the first book is set-up heavy and a bit dense, but it realllly picks up in #2... flew through #3....
I am still reading it and I want to finish it but I am struggling with the prose. Sometimes it can be too dense for me even when I am enjoying the story. And that means I have to stop to read when I have a lot of time and I am more relaxed. Hopefully I will get used to it and be able to read them quicker

It probably took me 3 weeks to read book 1, and just over a week for 2 & 3 each... though I did take a break in the middle and read other books.
Great to hear! :) And yeah, make it through this one and 2 and 3, etc, are much easier, is what people seem to find. :)
So glad to hear that y'all haven't abandoned! I'm really looking forward to reading with you!Thinking we should probably keep the 45 day rate with the books at least until folks catch up....
Sometimes I would read a chapter in the car while waiting for it to warm up... but I don't know if y'all live in snowy winter areas or not...
Not I! It's sunny(and cold-ish) here, which is really weird because it's usually rainy and semi-cold.
I wish I could get snow since I only get a ton of wind that just freezes you as much. I have only watched snow in my area four times in my life
Wow! That seems so strange to me, not having snow... but then, I'm sure my weather is just as strange to others not from around here... We've been getting down to 0F lately, so it's important to warm up the car before driving off... makes for a good 10-15 min reading bit.
LOL We make fun of places like that up here. But then, y'all can make fun of how much we complain when the temperature gets above 70.
0F is too low, that's freezing! On the other hand 70F is nice temperature for me. This summer I had to endure a few days with 110F
0F is actually quite pleasant--a little nippy, but I love the crisp scent in the air, and if anyone's doing a marshmallow firepit you can smell it for miles...110F would have me pulling everything out of the fridge so I could crawl inside...
Hey y'all! I'm just starting book #4 now, and I'm amazed at how quickly the pages go by. Anyone still reading? Should we keep the 90 day stretch between books in hope that folks catch up?
For an UPDATE! Curse of the Mistwraith will be released in April in Audiobook format! Worldwide! Link is up on audible. :D

Ok, so that is totally weird--I searched for "curse of the mistwraith" and got Destiny's Conflict's listing on Audible. Clicked on the series... and only Destiny's Conflict is listed in it. Searched for just "mistwraith" and FINALLY it shows up!! Audible doesn't have the series link live yet for it.Just in case anyone else has my same trials:

Will probably pick it up once my credits come back in this year. ^^ have it on wishlist until then. Then again, *I* already read it. *stares loftily down nose at all the people who crapped out because there was no audio*

The poke was from a place of love, really! I'm glad that audio is going forward, so more folks'll be able to join!!

I just caught this news on reddit and bought the audiobook... I saw it lined up with the release of the finale... hopefully they get Colin Mace to record books 2-9 at some point...

Books 10-11 are correctly linked as a series... book 1 includes the series name as a subtitle, but not as part of the series, which is annoying... Audible is as prone to series linking bugs as Goodreads, sometimes...

That is the hope! As always though, sales numbers are what drives those decisions, so the more we can entice people, the better our chances! :D
I already bought it, despite having the paperback and the ebook... I am such a huge fan of JW, I want to support her work and get the word out about her works as much as I can! I was going to start this next month, but I found out that Talking Story and several other book tubers are starting the series in January and now I am torn ...

Definitely why I spent a credit rather than maybe waiting for a sale... want/need more books to see release plans for me to read, probably... so I can hope to listen to the whole series, instead of cliffing myself with 1 audio and 9 ebooks before last 2 audio...

Yeah, I can see that and if I follow, you mean the gap of audiobooks vs the story(Curse doesn't end on a cliff for sure)
Also, for anyone interested in the area or wanting to get their friends in, UK's Apple books store has Curse's ebook as free book of the week and it runs for 3 more days. :)

As for chapter highlights--I can take or leave them. But if there is anything that y'all think we should be paying attention too--"did you notice...?" that would be cool... I also don't want to overburden y'all!
