Adding ISBN occupied by deleted edition

I merged two existing copies of the Ultimo Press paperback, but now cannot add the ISBN to the surviving copy because it is "in use" by the deleted copy. Thanks in advance!

Any tips about how I should have handled this would also be appreciated. I suspect I should have referred it to a super-librarian in the first place, as the copy of the edition missing ISBN information was also the most reviewed, meaning I couldn't merge it.

Deleting an edition with a valid ISBN is against policy, except for Invalid editions, so you should not have deleted that edition.

I tried to restore it, but I encountered a well known bug which prevents us from editing deleted editions. You should probably contact support, though I doubt they can help.

That policy makes a lot of sense in retrospect. That'll teach me to be impatient. I'll follow your suggestion and see if they can do anything. Thanks.
