Both Ben and Adam’s gay-dar sounded about Wade and Adam saw a malevolence in the kid, too. He also showed signs of abuse. Is it typical that most bullies have a self loathing or some other personal trauma that inspires them to pick on weaker targets? Your thoughts?

Generally speaking, yes, most bullies have a low self-image and it follows that they would pick on weaker kids.
