I may change my mind, but for now this is what I'm going with - Week 9: Alternate Option

I am going to save Charley for a little bit as I had to read a book for another challenge and it is an 8th in series.Week 9 Spot 68
book 8 Dan Starkey series
Week 9: Spot 68

Review:
The newest entry in the Elder Races series and I was a little leery at first. Julian and Melisande were not characters that had stuck out to me in previous books. But I have to say that I was completely wrong. Loved their story and I loved the storyline that surrounds them in this book. It is a little slow to get going, but once it does it moves at a very fast pace. Melly is a great heroine, sweet but tough - the princess who rescues herself but still loves her Prince. And Julian, while an ass in the beginning, redeems himself nicely. Great stuff from Ms. Harrison to continue the series.

Review:This is my favorite version of Cinderella, Ella is a smart and humble heroine that deserves the prince. The stepsister are different, you still hate the eldest but you feel sorry for the younger one and the mother isn't really evil just not very bright.
Week 9 Spot 68
book 8 Dan StarkeyRating★★★★
Finished 19th May 2015
With a Dan Starkey book you are guaranteed two things, 1) Lots of Snarky Humour and 2) Dan will get into a lot of trouble.
Dan has embarked on a new career as a PI of sorts. He is asked by an old friend now a radio Shock Jock to investigate the kidnapping of his son. This leads Dan into a whole range of trouble including the care of a 14 year old drug dealer with one leg. He and Trish are separated again but still can't keep away from each other.
Colin Bateman always makes me laugh. I loved the line "orange juice cunningly disguised as Jaffa cakes in the cupboard"
A fitting instalment in Dan Starkey's crazy life.

Review: This is the sequel to If I Stay which was an intriguing, quick read. I didn't have any interest in reading this sequel, but since it was on the alternate list, I gave it a shot. This is told from Adam's point of view and picks up a few years after Mia's car accident. They meet up again in New York City and we get flashbacks of what has happened since Mia left Oregon for Julliard. The story seems a little boring and too drawn out for my taste. It was an okay book, but I don't think I would have missed much if I hadn't read it.

So many good choices on the Set Aside shelf, all books that I have actually set aside. Maybe I'll give
another try while I still have it from the library. Or
, or a book #6,

We had the Set Aside or the DNF list as I think of it in my other group, I am going to have a look at it and see if anything jumps out, failing that I will probably go with a 6.
Good morning Team! I have grown to really like the Charley Davidson series, but it was a slow development for me.
I am deciding between

OK, I will be reading
which is #7 in the Midnight Breed series.Serendipity strikes again - I have to read this for my other team challenge!

Review:I got the book on a recommendation and at first it was good but after awhile you wish you could skip all the side stories like Jon Snow.I was a little shocked at the romance because I was told it was a fantasy book.
Mary, if you don't like all the side stories, I definitely wouldn't continue the series! And I don't recall any romance - who are we talking about?
Well, it definitely has that - though not as much as the HBO series does. I just thought maybe I missed something when I read it. I could've handled some romance!
I am going out of town for two weeks so I will not be able to read any books, is there someone who can fill in for me?
Hello Ladies I will be reading for Mary...just wanted to say Hi and I didn't want anyone to think I was a crazy lady posting a book in your challenge. But Grace would have known we are on the same SSS team.
Waves at NayNay Hi and welcome. I need to write my review for this week. I have to go to a PTA meeting ugghh so I will sort it when I get back.
Hi NayNay!! Welcome to our group!!Have fun at PTA, Grace!
I am headed out of town tomorrow and will be gone all weekend. I will have my computer with me, so I will be checking in sporadically.

This story is an interesting and thought provoking, emotional read.
It centres around the Vel d'Hiv round up in France where French police set more than 4000 Jewish children and their families to the death camps.
It concerns a journalist, Julia who sets out to find out what happened to Sarah the Jewish girl who lived the apartment owned by her husband's family. The story is told in the past by Sarah and 60 years later by Julia. It is Sarah's story and Julia's dealing with a failing marriage.
Welcome, NayNay!
I switched my book to a #7,
. I'll have my review up in the morning (almost done, but falling asleep now).

Book read:
The Devil Colony by James Rollins, Sigma Force Book #7
Date finished: 05/29/15
Rating: ♥♥♥♥
Review: I love James Rollins's novels for their fast-paced adventures and historical mysteries, and this book did not disappoint. Two Native American teenagers enter a sacred cave in Utah that legend says if anyone who enters it leaves will cause the end of the world. The grandfather of one of the boys discovers his grandson there and shoots him and then kills himself. The other boy escapes, but this leads to an explosion that releases a nest of ancient nanobots that destroy matter on contact. A volcanic eruption destroys the nanobots, but these events have triggered similar events in other places around the globe. Painter Crowe and the rest of the Sigma team are on the case, flying all over to stop more nano-nests from being released and consuming the world. Naturally, there is an evil Frenchman who is also on the chase for his own malicious purposes. It was interesting to read about the history of the founding of American and the connection that Mormons believe is between Native Americans and a lost tribe of Israel. I had never heard of any of this before, but that's why I like Rollins' books so much -- they are informative as well as entertaining! And I love that he includes at the end which parts of the story are actually true history and which parts he made up for the book.

Review: This book really made me miss the world that Shannon has created. While this wasn't my fav it's still a delightful read and very enjoyable. I am looking forward to continue reading this series. Cain is by far my favorite male and I really liked how Rory put up a fight instead of falling head over heels in the first chapter.

Cool, we still have a fighting chance if we roll a 12 next week! :) Probably unlikely, but nice to know we're still in the race!

I am not sure how I feel about this series , it is oddly addictive and very annoying at the same time. The characters are a bunch of spoilt little rich girls with a closet full of secrets. They all seem to have horrible parents and seem destined to make bad choices.
The mysterious A is still leaving the girls messages and they are still trying to work out who is tormenting them and how A knows their secrets. Pointless fluff, but I will probably read the next one.

I fell in love with Laura Andersen books when I picked up the first book in THE BOLEYN TRILOGY, boy how I remember devouring those books....I even remember sitting down trying to write a review to do the book justice THE BOLEYN RECKONING the last book in the trilogy...the best of the trilogy...and one of the best books I ever read. I have been anticipating THE VIRGIN'S DAUGHER, A TUDOR LEGACY #1, although I enjoyed it, it certainly can not compare to THE BOLEYN TRILOGY.
I loved revisiting past character's (Dom and Minuette Courtenay, love them both) I enjoyed the idea of the storyline 'What if Elizabeth 1, the virgin queen, had a daughter?' that thrilling possibility in itself makes you want to devour the book. I also enjoyed the new character's and of course the old and new romances that pull at your heartstrings. BUT....and a big but, it just not my beloved BOLEYN TRILOGY. It was good, it had everything a book should have, strong character's, solid storyline, romance, mystery, and a pace that keeps the pages turning. But I gave my heart to another, and could only give this book 4 stars.

Oh no! Sorry to hear about your hubby. Hope he is better soon! And I had meant to bring up that we should use the fast pass this week since next week might be the last week, so I'm glad we're using it. And of course this would be the week when I finally finished my book before the last minute! Finished this morning.

Review:
This is a very difficult book to rate. I was so excited to read it - Viking, immortal, Beowolf, and military romance. What could be more interesting! And it started out great - I loved the characters - Wulf and Teresa were compelling and intriguing. And then it somehow got lost. The story stays intriguing, but it is way too long with too many things happening and somehow the romance gets off track as well. Teresa becomes too bitchy and Wulf can't seem to decide who he is. I'm still interested enough to keep going as I want to know what happens to brother Ivar, but I hope the author gets a better editor.
