R5: SS Once Upon a Nine (9)

And welcome Jess! Glad you are down to 5 cough drops! What part of Wisconsin? I used to live in Stevens Point - graduated from high school - and have friends who still live there.

I haven't played this before either so all advice is welcome.
Nika, I keep seeing Patricia Briggs's name around Goodreads, so I'll be looking forward to reading your review if you read her book.

It is a great spin off, I love Charles and Anna. It is nice learning a bit more about Bran's pack too.

Just an update - picked up the truck yesterday and packed all day. 3 of my kids are on their way here from New Orleans to finish loading the truck today. Lots of fun! Everyone have a great weekend!
That's awesome, Jess! I went to have a new tire installed this morning, and I was so disappointed when they got me out of there in only 30 minutes -- I was counting on making a large dent in my book while waiting! Oh well :P

Jess your list is impressive. I wish I was a runner but I can just about manage walking on a good day.
Talia sorry you didn't get the reading time you wanted but speedy service is great.
I have my book finished but a coherent review is beyond me a the minute. I had a long day, we took the boys to get their hair cut. My eldest has Autism and ADHD so haircuts are to be avoided as much as possible. He has long blonde, very curly hair so it needs tamed every so often. Then the joy of grocery shopping and ironing their school uniforms. I am going to crawl to bed and see if I have to energy to read a little more.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

I really enjoyed this instalment in the series. We get to learn a bit more of Roarke's past as it starts to catch up with him. The story was good and came together well. I think Peabody got the best lines, I really love her and look forward to seeing more of in her the rest of the books.
Jess, I keep hearing about Susan Mallery but I haven't read any of her books. I'm definitely going to have to read one of her books one of these days!
Grace, it seems like everyone loves those In Death books! I read the first one and Roarke was too darn cocky for me! Lol But I did like the futuristic setting.

I still haven't read any Susan Mallery books either, I may get around to it. So many good books.

Jess, hire movers!! And I also loved that book by Susan Mallery. It's a fun small town romance series!
Grace - I just finished book #40 in the In Death series. Trust me, Roarke just improves through each book. He is awesome as is Eve and of course Peabody!
Still working on my book. Haven't had much time to read. But I'm about 65% done. This isn't one of my favorite series, but it's okay.

Nika, hope you're feeling better! I always think that if I'm sick, at least I can get a lot of reading done, but I always just end up sleeping the whole time :).
I updated message 55 with my review for this week's book.

Reminiscent of the first story in the Mercedes Thompson series. I already can tell where this is going and it's going to be fantastic. I truly enjoyed this story. Although it was a little slow it was exciting and different and I liked it and can't wait to read the second book.

Review:
Second time reading this one and I like Talin alot more this time around, though she was still a little too whiny for my taste. And Clay was wonderful! But I really enjoyed the story and felt the progression of the overall storyline was really strong. I understand so much more about the Psy reading it the second time and it helps tremendously.

LOL - Glad you survived your move. Hope all your books made it. Good luck with your internet : )

Review: Now that Celaena has become the King's Assassin, she begins her work dispatching the King's enemies...or so he believes. Secretly she has been helping her targets escape and presenting the king with the heads of corpses from the sick house. However, if there is a plot against the king, she does want to know about it. Meanwhile, Dorian is discovering some hidden talents of his own, and the plot thickens with the love triangle between Celaena, Dorian, and Chaol. Of course I don't condone violence, but it was nice to finally see Celaena's deadly assassin skills in this book since she has such a reputation of being so deadly. One fight scene was very Kill-Bill-esque. Naturally I will be continuing on with this series.
