Finley O'Sullivan is an attorney with serious problems. Her husband was murdered in their home, she was viciously attacked and left for dead, and the trauma caused her to become mentally unbalanced during a trial. She now works as an investigator for her godfather Jack Finnegan's law firm and the case they currently have is a strange one. A convicted murderer has recanted his confession claiming he only confessed to cover for his girlfriend, the victim's daughter. The daughter, Cecelia, is a twin to Olivia, and it was their father who was murdered. Finley and Jack are constantly bombarded with lies from all concerned and wading through it all to the truth will prove nearly impossible. On top of all of this, Finley's husband's murder has never been solved although she is positive she knows who is behind it. Proving that will be another staggeringly difficult task.
For the most part the story was very good. It did become confusing with all of the lies that were being told by the twins, a look-alike character, the confessed murderer and even some in law enforcement. I did figure out one of the clues but certainly not the entire plot. I would be interested in reading the next in the series.
