A movie I saw some years ago, but I do not remember the title nor the actress. It was a drama set in some cold place, maybe an island out of Scotland shores.

I remeber that there were these two women, one was the landlord (I do not know how is the female for landlord), the second one worked in the house quite like a slave. It was horrible to see when she had to wash the bedsheets in this cold weather.
The two women had a link that was not limited to their respective roles, but I cannot describe it in any detalis.
The landlord must have been around 70 - 75 years old, while the slave was difficult to tell, more than 50, less than 65.
Anyone saw it?

Could it be Dolores Claiborne by Stephen King? I remember a description about doing laundry in the cold and how it hurt her hands. Very particular about using 6 laundry pins for each bed sheet.

Yes. It is the one I was looking for. I saw the movie again few days ago and it fits to what I remeber. But I probably did not see it from start to enda a the time of my first viewing, because there are too many parts I completely don't remember.
