They are in one magic world, at some point in the story they for to another one. the main characters male friend befriends a turtle that can grow really large and fly them around like a plane. The MC is forced to duel in a pseudo tournament with people who think they are the same people as the ones who used to own the burlap suits. The main character at the end of one of the books gets pulled into a different world to meet his aunt who was like a dragon or something. There was some minor gamelit elements, like names to their moves and quantified magic. I think it was kindof progression fantasy.
